May Far Takeaway in The Vale of Glamorgan

Just had a fabulous meal delivered for the first time from May Far, as we have just moved to St Athan, very well done will be back 👍

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and not going to lie the sauce was so bad I think you'd have to be pregnant to be able to eat that

Once upon a tine in china ...,this used to be a good take away , which i would pay the extra for the quality however , my last 22 pound meal for 2 ,was a complete waste of money , i could have had a set 6 piece meal for-2 from rogers at nearly same price and been happy .

Thought this was a nice place until I found something black in my chicken ball. And have been up all night being sick and have got a very bad belly. Will never be ordering from here again, don't think I've been this ill in years!!¹

Brilliant Chinese takeaway. Lovely tasty hot food. Can not fault it. Great value . And delivery.

Just ordered big delivery, spent nearly £50 and we're missing half our order which we have paid for, cash on delivery! As we are the last order of the night at 11:30pm we have tried and tried phoning for the rest of our food but cannot get hold of anybody!!

Ordered a meal for collection. Very polite on the phone. On collection felt very safe, staff all wearing gloves and masks and a good system for collection. There was a slight mistake with the order but when we called staff were apologetic and went out of their way to rectify. Would defiantly recommend and will order again when we’re back in the area. Thanks.P.s. Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and the bbq ribs were particularly good!

I would not recommend this establishment due to poor quality and expense due to its small non existent portions. I ordered chicken fried rice, 2 chicken and Chilli portions and chips. Very disappointed as the chicken resembled a dogs chew bone; that being a tough batter and stringy chicken also the chips were hollow i.e no potato. The food looked like it was prepared 3 days ago. When I complained they blamed it on my son who picked it up as it as he was sat there for 5 minutes before collecting it. Well correct me if I'm wrong but what about the orders for home delivery that go from door to door waiting to get to its destination? Does the quality of the food decrease on arrival to the door such as being dried up and non existence? This was an expensive dinner for my dog's!

Friendly owners and staff but it's about the food, which I personally think is not the best in the area. I find the food here a little bland, watery and bulked up with the cheaper ingredients. For example my chow mein meal had little meat or bean sprouts and was mainly noodles. The cup of sweet and sour sauce we had had the viscosity of water and didn't have much flavour.Rogers and Loks Kitchen, the Chinese takeaway we usually use, were closed so we went to May Far. May Far is okay but we prefer Rogers in Llantwit Major or Loks Kitchen in St Athan which both get five stars.
