O'Shea's Cafe and Takeaway in The Vale of Glamorgan

Asked for fish and chips and got three small fish tails, asked for a proper portion of fish and was told to look underneath the chips for the third small tail of fish. Server offered to change to a proper potion of fish after making me feel like I was in the wrong for asking for a proper portion of fish. This was a shame because what I was given was nice although not a full portion. I declined the offer to have a proper portion because of servers attitude.

At 6pm on a busy sunny Sunday, they were still serving Fish & Chips when others around them had all closed up. Nice one!

The chips were ok but very very minimal and the fish was just an over cooked lump of batter with a small tail end of fish in! Definitely no where near worth £8.50 I wouldn't bother you will be more satisfied with a £3.50 sandwich meal deal from Tesco or such, 3 fish n chips, and a children's chips £27!!!! Must have got 2 potatoes in the whole lot at most and forget about the fish

We went yesterday and ordered fish & chips and then a fish on its own and 2 cans of pop...£17.40 later 🙃 opened up our food and I was absolutely gobsmacked , there were about 25 chips in there and what I can only describe was a goldfish in batter !!! Obviously what they are doing is instead of giving you the whole fillet they are cutting them in half lengthways and frying them so you literally have half a fish !!! It was greasy anyway and the chips hard , the fish on its own was the same size !!!! Obviously the owners are taking advantage of it being half term , we will never come here again and could see when we passed other fish and chip places quite near their fish were huge and cheaper....lesson learnt there....what an absolute rip off !

While there was a queue for O'Shea's when we went at noon, it was by far the fastest-moving of all the nearby fish and chip shops. Once we placed our order, we only had to wait about 5 minutes for our food.My husband and I each had a small fish and chips. The portions were generous and we both struggled to finish. The fish was delicious with a lovely crispy batter and the chips were perfectly cooked. Our meals were piping hot and freshly made. Would definitely recommend!

I waited in an hour long line for "Barry Islands" best fish and chips. It was over fried as per the picture, the fish tasted frozen and was extremely chewy. The chips were solid as the clams in the sea. After waiting an hour the large cod and chips "ran out" which was annoying especially after waiting such a long time..... The long wait was not worth it, the reason for the three stars is because the Curry Sauce was honestly the best I have ever had :) Not worth the hype unless you want sore feet for curry sauce!

Long wait for this delicious fish and chips but getting to eat it on the beach just made it that much better.If your going at lunch time they'll probably be a queue. We did have to wait 40 minutes and on ordering they were out of large fish, bummer but they did fry some more.Another 15 minutes later we finally had our Fish and Chips, and oh man it was worth the wait. Lovely and crispy, not too oily, fish was soft and not chewy. Wish they had Irish Curry Sauce back in England, the taste is just more flavoursome.

Food was okay, you definitely get what you pay for. Chips didn't taste very fresh...but the location is stunning, right by the sea! Some of the staff members were quite rude and got very distracted when taking my order. If you're starving and this is the only place nearby then it's average!

Great service. Lovely bunch of girls sieving us. Had the large cod and chips, which is a massive portion so get t if you are hungry. Yummy 🤤

Have been here before but this time was amazing, the beach was great opposite the chip shop but the fish and chips were honestly beautiful. Even my partner who isn't a massive fan of fish had a full cod to herself and loved it. Would recommend!
