The best fish and chips i had in Cardiff. Just mind the wait time for 10-12 min to cook the food. A must try in penarth.

Spotlessly clean small chip shop, take out only. The chips were some of the best I have tried and were not greasy at all, the fish was very tasty and the curry sauce lovely as well. Little hidden gem in Penarth selling quality food at very good prices. 👍

Fantastic gluten free fish and chips for myself and my daughter who are both coeliacs. A real treat. I grew up in Penarth and had chips from Plassey Street as a kid. Now I still can as an adult while visiting my parents 😁

Fish rotten - after taking one bite it was obvious the fish was off with a strong immonia taste. On inspection it had turned gray and mushy and was inedable. We were both sick for after eating. The strong smell took hours to disappear!Mistakes happen, and we would have been happy with an apology and refund on the fish. However the unprofessional and rude way the complainant was dealt with was not acceptable at all. Really disappointed as we've eaten here before and have always been happy. I never leave bad reviews, as a small business owner myself - but with everything, I feel it needs to be said.

Our first night in Cardiff and needed to find a fish and chip shop that had gluten free options. All the other recommended shops were closed as it was a Sunday but found Plassey fish bar with delivery via Deliveroo and we were not disappointed.The food was clearly marked as gluten free to not mix up with others who had ordered. Batter was crispy, curry was awesome and chips were great. Huge portions.

"Thursday 17/02/2022" Prior to carrying out a six mile walk from Penarth to the Cardiff bay area via the barrage and back I checked the reviews for fish & chip shops within the Penarth area.Plassey FB according to the reviews was one of the Fish & chip shops recommended.After completing our walk we drove to the PFB and my sister and I both ordered the same, a Cod & chips lunch and we requested cutlery. Promptly making our way to the Penarth Pier, we demolished the lot. Both the chips and fish were lovely and hot, the fish was full of flavour and the batter was crunchy. The golden fried chips were soft within and crispy on the outside. The ultimate in comfort food.And what a great end to a perfect dayThank you !!!

If you like your chips with a slight crunch like me you'll love these chips. The haddock was ok and the batter was nice and thin.
