Gluten Free WeekendVisiting Cardiff for the Coeliac UK food show we decided to stay over at the Copthorne Hotel. We decided to have our evening meal in the restaurant. The waitress didn't have a clue about Gluten Free so I presume it was the head waiter assured us which items on the menu that was GF and safe. Lasagne was ordered, it was brought to our table so we asked which one was GF. I will have to check she said. The head waiter came over and said he was extremely sorry and it appears the Lasagne wasn't GF.Can't believe in this day and age they are so unsympathetic and ignorant and laid themselves open to being sued.Pleased we didn't eat it and then had to suffer the consequences.

The food here was really lovely. The staff were very friendly and chatty. We went for breakfast, it was a buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice, hot and cold food available. There is seating over looking the lake which is lovely. The drinks were included in the buffet breakfast.I have rated it a four star as I do believe it's a bit overpriced for a buffet breakfast. It was a lovely restaurant though and I would definitely visit again.
