The Blacksmiths Arms in The Vale of Glamorgan

Called today. Sat 4th June. Had the bbq chicken burger. Was great. My wife had the steak pannini. Was lovely . The pie was delicious. Great service and lovely pub. Will be back. Thanks guys.

Lovely location - we chose to walk from Llantwit across fields. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. The burgers are excellent - I had a vegan one called the 'Garden Gourmet Burger' which I very much enjoyed. Others with me had normal meat burgers which looked great and they enjoyed those very much too. Some of the best chips we'd had in quite a while. We sat outside which was an easy and dog-friendly experience. Definitely recommend - particularly if you like an excellent burger with lots of options.

Great service, lady behind bar/ front of house was on her own and was outstanding, the restaurant was quite busy and she really worked hard, to keep everything and everyone happy. food was good to.

Good food and a nice atmosphere make this a great stop off for a pub lunch or evening meal. Staff are polite and helpful and menu had plenty of choice.

Service was good i.e. the staff members were friendly, good food. Unfortunately we didn't get our 5th course i.e. coffee and mince pies and we were told that the bar was closed at 16 00 hours. Had we known this in advance then we wouldn't have booked our Christmas Dinner there. Sorry but very disappointed. Otherwise a nice pub.

We've been a few times before and always had a good meal previously. This is a friendly village pub with a good choice of beers. However, on this visit we had Sunday lunch (Turkey) for the first time and it was a real disappointment. The roast potatoes were white and 'soggy' and the Yorkshire pudding small and the tiny stuffing overcooked . Overall the meal was acceptable, but we won't be going back for Sunday Lunch

Seems like a nice pub. The starter was somewhat slow to come out, with the mains immediately after, with no gap. Starter wasn't as per the menu, I did comment to the waiter, but didn't get any feedback.Not bad food, but I think mostly good quality preprepared sous vide.Wouldn't really go back.

Food is amazing-huge portions( especially the desserts!) & a vast menu choice...proper pub grub(all made to order)& cooked to perfection.Clean & tidy, roomy and the staff are lovely.Will return time & time again.
