Excellent lunch time meal, piping hot generous portions. 12oz was particularly good, as was the mixed grill and the ribeye. Very good friendly service. Will definitely be back.

·

We had a very unfortunate experience where we booked in for 01.00 and asked for a seat by the window as my 95 year old father was partially sighted. On our arrival we were told that a group who had arrived 5 minutes earlier had been given our table as the waitress assumed that they we us?We sat at another table and I got drinks from the bar , and was told that the chef hadn’t turned in and had we booked?Other people arrived and were asked for their orders after ourselves…. and were served. After asking about our order we continued to wait. At 02.45 when two tables had been served with 3 courses and one table was actually leaving!! We decided to leave ourselves. We have been to for a meal previously and had a lovely meal but what was most disappointing was the lack of communication and no real apology other than I wasn’t charged for my two pints of beer but they were happy to charge for the bottle of wine that we had consumed during our two hour wait.

Great service, fantastic food, very attentive staff. The price of the food was very reasonable for tge standard of home cooked meals and desserts served!!I have already been back twice and will go back again and again 😊

This is a charming pub with excellent food and staff who are welcoming, friendly and intelligent. I'm conscious that 'intelligent' is an odd word to use in a review like this but I got the sense when conversing with the staff, particularly our waitress, that they actually listen when you talk to them and any response, whether to a request or general chatter, is considered and smart.I said the food was excellent, and it was. Its also very well presented though this is the kind of place where the chips come in a small metal faux frying basket, custard in a miniature churn and so on. You basically lay out your own food on your plate, but that's fine (they show a level of self awareness in this by referring to the chips as 'posh' chips). The toilets are clean (the gents anyway) and there's good parking, not an easy feat considering the size of the village.I'd go again and recommend you do too.

Went for my future sister in law's 30th birthday this evening. Food was outstanding. Highly recommended 😁

Fantastic friendly pub - brilliant staff and food extremely tasty. The steak and fish were very good quality savoured every mouthful. Portions were perfect and all served within a very reasonable time.Wanted to keep the camembert wheel a secret- because it was so good I could have eaten that alone with a bottle of red.
