The Golden Mile Country Inn in The Vale of Glamorgan

Only 4 stars because we stopped for a drink and a light bite, from the name, expecting an inn. We did get manage to get drinks at a table outside, but in fact this is a rather nice looking higher end restaurant with table service.. not what we were looking for but might come back again for a proper meal!

It was a hot day with a 5 mile walk. We ended at a different pub with a disappointing menu. We searched for an alternative and it didn't take long to find the promise of the Golden Mile Inn. It was a bank holiday. Would we be lucky? We arrived, and found plenty of parking spaces left. Quality. Our eyes landed on the sun soaked beer garden with lushious views. Very Friendly reception from staff. Perfect. Beers in, menus out, spoilt for choice.The food was superb. Fish and chips, a chicken burger, both cooked to perfection. A good vegan menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices on the main menu . Our vegan mushroom Risotto was delicious. Looking forward to our next visit, when I need a nice place to take friends or family. Thank you!

Best Meal I've ever had, Soup was delicious and curry and chips also delicious, Highly recommend!!Update* don't go if you have a wheelchair! Felt very awkward on our second visit, no one opened the door for us, when leaving they decided to block the wheelchair access doors with a table so had to go through the very narrow doorway, put me off going again, very unwelcoming, was great on our first visit, really let themselves down!!

Good quality pub grub and friendly staff. Also had well kept draught Bass.

Visited Sunday for a roast, I wouldn’t usually have salmon with a roast but I’m happy I did! All the food served was perfect! My friend had beef, we tried each other’s and well I will be visiting again to try more.

Really good food. My cousin booked a surprise 80th for her Mum so there were around 20 of us and the food was all served within minutes of each other, was piping hot and scrummy. Fantastic effort by all the staff, well done team.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here last night. The warm welcome we received was second to none. The room was perfect. It was the comfiest sleep we have had in a while. Last night's meal was absolutely perfect. Not often do we get a steak cooked to such perfection. Today we had the Sunday roast and again, the meal was a solid 10/10. Not a single complaint. The staff from owner to manager to bar staff were all so lovely and courteous. Highly recommend staying here or at the very least, trying out their amazing food. Can't wait to come back.

A great advertisement for the traditional/modern pub blend, with excellent food, ales & wines on offer in a relaxed, ambient setting. The staff are friendly and attentive and there is clearly a strong team ethic. Really enjoyable evening.

Lovely lunch, good choice on menu. Salad looked great, my lasagne was slightly overdone. Great service and desert selection.

Absolutely excellent meal last night, superb scallops and an even better steak (which I forgot to take a photo of). Good selection of wine, including this amazing, young Primitivo.
