The Hare & Hounds in The Vale of Glamorgan

The food was incredible, best meal I've had in a long time. Definitely coming back for special occasions. Waitress was lovely and kind too 💓

We had been looking forward to visiting the Hare and Hounds for a while but unfortunately we were disappointed. It is extremely pricey for what you get and we have eaten far more delicious and refined meals with more generous portions elsewhere. In particular, we ordered the asparagus soup which was delivered cold and quarter filling a glass tumbler. This was £10! We don’t mind paying top dollar if the experience and cuisine reflects it, and often we do. We will not be back

Me and my partner had been meaning to come for a while, we absolutely love the bakery but finally had the chance to go to the restaurant. Safe to say we were not disappointed. Had the pleasure of meeting Tom in the bar at the end of the night to thank him personally for the food, it was incredible. Cannot wait to come back!

Went thinking it would be different from most pubs that do a Sunday lunch but it wasn’t . The beef dinner at £20 just wasn’t worth the money, also the small dessert soufflé at £10 that wasn’t anything special and was just mediocreThey played extremely loud reggae music next to the kitchen which spoiled the ambience of our group meeting . We couldn’t hear ourselves think it was so loud at one point and the staff seemed oblivious to what customers ( ourselves)should be subjected to.Overall a very expensive pub lunch ! there’s plenty of other pubs that are much cheaper and better if you look around.

Not really impressed on our first visit for Sunday lunch. Well known and very busy so we had to wait nearly one hour for our food to be served. The quality was very good and the contents just about sufficient but the menu is biased towards adults. We paid a £40 deposit to secure the booking and this was then added to the bill instead of being deducted. So if not spotted by us we could have paid £140 plus instead of the correct £60 remaining balance. Somewhat disconcerting also was the sight of one of the kitchen staff with his trouser waist band half down his backside with underpants proudly on display.

Hare and Hounds is by far the finest restaurant in Cowbridge. Situated a few minutes from the market town, the restaurant offers excellent quality dishes and impeccable service. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We booked a table here for 5 for my birthday. When we arrived the table was set for 4, we had to ask for napkins and a glass for water .There is a handicapped unisex toilet which smelt of urine.The beef was really tough with a very small jug of peppercorn sauce for 3 !

Had a meal in the restaurant for my birthday. Food was spot on to be fair, compliments to the chef. The waiting staff were also very helpful. However, we left with a bitter taste as the management made us feel a bit uncomfortable while we were there. They do charge top dollar so I wouldn't really expect to leave feeling like that. Wouldn't go back

Hare & Hounds has been on my list for a long time after a pleasant visit to their sister pub - Heathcock in Llandaff. The food was really nice and we tried two local ales as well. Absolutely love the crispy pig cheek and the sourdough! A must go if you are visiting Cowbridge.
