The Yard Pizzeria in The Vale of Glamorgan

Over from Germany and visiting Cowbridge with my family, we popped into this amazing place for a coffee and soft drinks. The staff were very friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The coffee was great, the seats were comfortably, and the mood was cosy. If we had had more time, we would have stayed for lunch.

Our experience of The Yard was OK. Our party arrived at two different times but on both occasions we were pointed in the general direction of the table by the staff rather than being shown to the table which seemed a bit odd. The food itself was nice, we each ordered pizza, but the service was slow and we had to wait a while to pay despite having the bill and trying to get the attention of the staff standing at the bar. Only when we stood up to go and get someone did someone else come over so we could pay.

Went for lunch on a Thursday lunchtime (wedding anniversary as it happens).Nice relaxed ambience inside. Waitresses were helpful and not in your face.We had the sandwich, which is a flatbread (using pizza dough) which is split and filled with ham, salad, mozzarella etc, and comes with chips, plus a salad. We shared the two dishes and had a medium glass of rosé each. I had an espresso to finish.Portion sizes were more than enough for lunch.I'd like to try their pizzas in the evening, as the bread for the sandwich was terrific.

Popped in today on an impromptu visit. Excellent pizza! So full of flavour & dough was fantastic. Will certainly visit again. Casual & friendly dining too.

Amazing food, first time going and won't be the last!!

Smashing family run business on the Cowbridge High Street where there is many a discerning customer. The quality is consistently high, service is very good and the restaurant is nicely assembled. My favourite is the tarragon chicken pasta - although with five or so visits under my belt, every visit has been worthwhile. Pleased to recommend this place to anyone.

Staff were most amazing service was friendly and helpful and very attentive, the food was very tasty and fresh, can't recommend this place enough , great venue for family gatherings or simply just a romantic date and even eating alone! 10 stars if I could give them

The best pizza I've ever had ! I had the good shepard 2.0 with no black olives and it was delicious. I loved the different sauce, a nice change from tomato base. The service was quick and friendly and the side dishes were lovely too. Cant wait to return !

Had a nice lunch of fresh pizza. Very nice and tasty. Friendly service. Try and book as a few people were turned away as it's busy. Enjoyed our visit to lovely cowbridge

The Yard is a really strong addition to the Cowbridge foodie scene. All pizzas freshly prepared in house with high quality Italian flour and tomatoes and topped with plenty of local ingredients. The huge wood fired pizza oven is the star of the show along with the lovely staff. Nice range of sides and pastas if that's your thing, but the pizzas are first class. My Pedwar Caws with Welsh cheese disappeared in no time. The restaurant itself is a good space and very family friendly and the food fairly priced. Just add a cple of Welsh and Italian gins to the menu and it will be perfect!
