A&D Fisheries in Tonbridge and Malling

Wanted fish and chips for supper, but our local one was closed, grr. So due to detour we ended up trying A&D. Friendly welcome by 2 young ladies, who served us promptly. Fish supper and savloy and chips. Generous portions and very enjoyable, only reason for 4 stars is that am not keen on chunky chips (sorry). Fish was nicely cooked though and would go again.

Spend over £20 today on tiny portions food which was BLAND AS HELL. I ordered cod, chips, southern fried chicken which was over £3 was small piece of regular chicken! I requested salt and vinegar but every dish was bland. I ordered curry sauce and didn't get any at all!!!!!!!!!!!!VERY DISAPPOINTED with BLAND awful food, items missing. I've been ripped off and will never order from this place again! Too expensive

I kid you not, this is how my food arrived. If i could give 0 star i would. I couldn't believe my eyes. We not only waited over 40 minutes to collect our food but then there was apparently no prawns so they added more white bait. The cheapest thing in the order that i don't eat anyway. Called and gave them a chance to rectify and all they did was complain about how busy they were. We paid £46 for food that was not even close to being worth that. What we got was worth no more than £25 total. Mine and my husband's cods were cooked then cut up and put in our box. It looked like a child had played with our food. No care for presentation whatsoever. Oh and we got 2 whole cherry tomatoes each, and barely a hand full of chopped lettuce and a few slices of onions. Just thrown in the box. It appears some possibly inexperienced young people were put in an unfair position to have to manage a very busy evening that they just weren't capable of managing. The first person I spoke to didn't even know what to say to me. And was clearly frazzled. I explained to them what the situation was and he just handed the phone to someone else and said nothing to them even though i was on the phone with him for a good few minutes so i then had to explain all over again to another person who clearly was overwhelmed and stressed and had no resolution to offer except for a drink which i refused. Not good enough for such an abismal service and food. Considering their prices. Food was disappointing, completely overpriced and the service is shocking. Needless to say we will be looking at other fish and chip shops now.

Have they changed ownership? Went by today and the worst meal I’ve ever had from there. Used to be excellent service, staff were great and food was so good. Today staff wearing coats whilst serving food (Food Hygiene Standards completely out the window), batter was burnt and the Uber deliveries got priority meaning everyone had to wait for chips, which somehow ended up burnt as well!!!! Really put me off used to be my go too but won’t be back

I have bought fish & chips from here a few times and it was great until recently. The food was packed really badly, there were hardly any chips in the box and the fish was very greasy. The southern fried chicken was over cooked. It’s a real shame as this place was my favourite place for fish & chips.

So I went here for savaloy, sausage and chips the chips were really nice couldn’t fault them but the sausage and savaloy was a different story they tasted cheap and disgusting tbh I wouldn’t even feed it to an animal let alone a human…

Consistently tasty food. Thin light crispy batter. Moist yet crunchy chips. On very rare occasions there will be a lunch time when the chips are just like other fish and chip shops, ok but not special. 98% of the time they are moreish fluffy moist crunchy perfection. The staff are happy, welcoming, fast and listen well. The safety measures they have put in place are spot on. 3 sections in side for ordering and payment, with an in door and an out door. Plus yellow markings outside to keep distance if you have to wait. They wear masks, gloves and hand gel. The one time I saw someone change their gloves today they took them off, immediately put hand sanitiser on before picking up a new pair. Very professional. Always enjoy celebrating the festive seasons with customers, this Halloween they made their own tomb stones, one name was: Chris P Batter. Simply ticks every single box for a food service.

Traditional Fish and Chips served by families of Cypriot descent is part of the culture I grew up with. These warm, Caring craftsmen of Britain’s staple are keeping the tradition alive here in Kent at A & D Fisheries.The format is simple, fish, chips, salt, vinegar, boxed or paper wrapped. Fresh as and delicious. Want something a little different I highly recommend the Mushy Peas Fritters and battered Hollumi.
