Lovely independent coffee shop and cafe on Tonbridge High street

I truly want to like Basil and give it a 5 star rating, but for some reason I struggle to. The menu is limited and very pricey and the service can be a bit hit and miss. Cakes are delicious though and the coffee is nice. Decor is average and not very inspiring.

This was a mundane experience, Will I go and try them again to give the benefit of the doubt, I do like to give people 2nd n 3rd chances, but that’s normally if they’re run off their feet and I can respect that(this was not the case). I thought I lost my taste from covid when eating what could only be a microwaved panini. I was wrong, I tasted the coffee. The problem with having a business in a commuter town is that you can pull the wool over some of the population of Tonbridge.
