First time in this quaint, cute pub! Instantly welcomed by staff and some of the locals. Some great outdoor seating at the front and out the back (beautiful view). Lovely Queens Jubilee decorations!Note - car park is down a narrow alley and round the back!

First time I'd ever been here and was very pleasantly surprised.Apparently it's actually appropriately named......I've been told that the chef either undertakes the entire butchering process for the meat on offer, or was formerly a master butcher.... I'm not quite sure which. Sorry!Having said all that......... I had a beautiful lunch here with my hubby and daughter! As it was a lovely day, weather wise, we chose to sit outside. The patio area was nicely laid out with the car park just behind. At the end of the car park is a small grassed area with additional wooden picnic tables and beyond lies a background of beautiful countryside scenery.I chose the 4 cheese macaroni, which arrived sizzling hot in a skillet and accompanied with a garlic bread side dish.Although delicious, it was way too much for me.... so you need to ensure you're absolutely starving if you expect to finish it!My husband had the Beef, ale and blue cheese pie, which was accompanied with the LARGEST and crispiest chips I've seen! It's so freshly made that he had the option of excluding the blue cheese.... which he didn't!Even though I'm personally not a fan of ale, I had a taster and actually really liked it! For me, the element of the blue cheese actually mellowed the taste of the ale.So, for the first time ever, I actually liked it!My daughter had the Steak ciabatta. The steak looked amazing. No gristle, or fat... just pure, tender steakThe staff were amazingly friendly, helpful and efficient. ❤️The food was beautifully cooked and presented. The food here are definitely NOT "microwave quickies" !Everything was freshly made and cooked, so expect to wait for an appropriate amount of time.It was definitely worth it.....We'll be back! ❤️

The Butchers Block is a little gem! I booked a table of 6 for my Dads 75th then changed the booking to 8. When I initially called to book I was advised that their restaurant was fully booked but was offered the poseur table in the bar area. I was a little apprehensive as my parents were elderly but the food here is fabulous. When we arrived to our surprise they’d laid out one large table in the private area of the main bar which was really nice considering I didn’t mention the age of some of the party or that it was a birthday celebration. This made the evening a little bit special and we were told we had the area for the night!. The place was really busy but the service was second to none with friendly attentive staff. There was a slight delay on the food but considering half of our guests were late and the pub/restaurant was packed this wasn’t an issue, again staff very attentive. The food was simply fantastic and very well priced, and quite frankly the best meat I’ve eaten out of London and in the South East (I’ve eaten at a lot of steak restaurants), one guest had fish and loved it, looked and tasted great. All in all a fantastic evening had by all, well worth the visit. As a local I will definitely be supporting this venue, keep up the great work guys well done!

This was our first visit here. I enjoyed my meal of Iman Biyaldi starter and had ordered Harissa Spiced Aubergine Curry served with apricot rice and crispy halloumi (gf) as my main course. The two dishes were exactly the same, which I though was unusual, (except the extra rice, which was just rice with a few pieces of apricot thrown in) and I only realised 2 days later I should have had crispy halloumi with it, which I didn't receive or notice at the time. It was a pleasant enough service and atmosphere, and I liked the decor and table fresh flowers. However, I am now disappointed neither the waitress nor chef pointed out the missing halloumi or the similarity between the dishes when I ordered. We knew it's not a cheap restaurant, but definitely not value for money, even after the 25% off offer during January Mon-Thursday.(which we only discovered when paying) I'd be interested to hear how the management respond.

Food quality was of a very high standard, it's not cheap but they do say you get what you pay for, staff was very pleasant and friendly, I will be going back for more.

Great steaks, succulent and flavourful, good scotch egg, homemade and delicious, burger was a bit of a disappointment as the bun was over toasted and dry and burger was just ok. Probably my fault for ordering a burger in a steak restaurant! Lovely service and atmosphere.

Not our first time here. Parking is a little tricky but you are there for the food. Usually have a steak but today had a two meat roast (beef and lamb), excellent quality, best tasting meat.Hope to go back soon this year!!
