It was my first time visiting this place. I had a lovely breakfast. definitely recommend.

Wonderful! Delicious food, friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended tomato and mascarpone soup.

No ability to book tables, but when you walk in (your only choice) and they’re busy, they sadly make you feel like such an inconvenience and are quite rude! (Also want to point out that this was one member of staff in particular, could not speak for the others). No option to wait for a table either so feels completely pointless. Had high hopes about this place and really wanted to try but I don’t think I’ll return now.

Nice breakfast and food seemed good quality. However slightly limited menu and strangely we weren’t able to substitute poached eggs for fried eggs and a rigid menu with no extras such as black pudding. Friendly service and a nice ambience. Interesting shop downstairs with an array of products. Worth a visit.

Wonderful cafe eaterie serving lovely food from attentive and friendly staff...

Limited but good light lunch menu (not tried breakfast menu), food excellent and the coffee was very good. Quick service even at Friday lunch time. Bonus, if you are into old buildings, are the deeply impressive roof timbers and old fireplace visible when seated on the 1st floor. Is very busy at lunchtime so get there early.

Stopped by for breakfast this morning, arrived at 11am and breakfast arrived at 12.10 ! When it arrived half the food was cold , complained to waitress who said she was sorry but they’re short staffed , appreciate that but if that’s the case why take full capacity walk ins ? Cut back on tables. When we went to pay again complained and said cold food and long wait , no apology here just told we got your food to you as soon as we could ! Sadly won’t return again , put us off

They stopped serving food at 3.30 to eat in, only doing takeaway eventhough they didn't close until 5pm. Lots of people were wanting snacks after picking children up from school. We all ended up next door in Costa where we could sit down. The Hungry Guest are missing a trick by only doing takeaway.

Really disappointing. We used to come here for food every time we were in the area, it was fantastic. Now however it seems to have gone downhill; the breakfast options were very limited (no more Greek yoghurt with granola 😢) and despite them selling artisan bread downstairs my husband’s toast was a couple of pieces of bog standard sliced bread!Maybe it’s the result of covid , but still… disappointed.

The best brownie in Kent? I’d say so. The desserts served at The Hungry Guest are sublime: Care, attention to detail and presentation, all boxes ticked. What about taste? I had to focus on stopping my eyes from rolling in their sockets like a fruit machine’s spinners after sampling a taste of the brownie. Food that has this response on the inner workings of the mind scare and excite. The Hungry Guest is a modern, charming, romantic venue. Staff are warm and down to earth. Food prices are spot on for Kent. Best of all they have an excellent La Marzocco espresso machine; it creates beautiful Italian coffees to complement after-dessert contemplation.
