A Sunday lunchtime on Father's Day so I expected everything to be manic. It was the opposite, very calm and organised. There was a carvery and most, but not all of our party opted for that. Orders were taken and we were invited to the carvery when the other orders were ready so we could all eat at the same time. Organised. My roast pork was very acceptable and others were similarly pleased.

Popped in for a midweek lunch. Found they did an OAP lunch which was very tasty and filling. Two courses at a very reasonable price.Definitely will be going back

Warm welcoming pub with good old fashioned pub food. Generous portions and very competitvely priced.

My first trip to this pub for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed at all. A nice warm welcome from the start and shown to our table with menus which had a great choice of food including specials. The food was superb from the starter through to the Gypsy Tart dessert and the coffee was delicious too. There were Christmas tunes playing in the background and we all had a very enjoyable meal. I would return there tomorrow if I could fit any more food in my tummy. 10 out of 10 for a lovely local pub. Well done to our waitress too, it was her first day working there and she did herself proud.

Place is very nice but food could be better. Fish not very tasty and shrimp full of eggs. Roast potato was not roasted.Weird to say but the Ingredients on.the plates just don't go well together.

We stopped here for lunch after sightseeing. It was a perfect, sunny day between Christmas and New Years so everyone was out and about. Parking lot was full so we parked a few streets away. This of course was the first sign that the restaurant was full. We were lucky and they had a table available for the 5 of us. We didn’t realize it was self-service so you have to order and pay upfront at the bar. The food took more than 1 hour and this killed our chance to visit another nearby castle. However, the meals were extremely delicious so i guess it was worth the long wait!

Traditional family pub in pretty location. Rocked up on Sunday afternoon after visiting nearby Scotney Castle. Really nice carvery served until 3pm. Will definitely return.
