Hoopers in Tunbridge Wells

Saw it closes at 17:30, stopped in for some lunch. Got to the till to order some food at 15:02 after waiting in line to order and was told the gas in the kitchen has been turned off and no food available. Really disappointing especially considering that it's on a Saturday.

I like having a cream tea here every time I shop, The Scones are delicious.

Really disappointed. Three of us tried to order food and none of it was available and it was only 3 o'clock! Not even scones were in stock

Just had breakfast, asked for gluten free toast to replace sour dough, this became very difficult for staff to calculate on the cash register . Tried to charge us £8 more.When the breakfast arrived for £6.95 it was 1 thin slice of g/b toast, smashed avo and 2 poached eggs, very small serve for money. My partner had a full cooked English for £1 more, this looked fantastic and good value for money .

Only 1 egg unfortunately w the Full English & extra one is £1.15, but otherwise good, w nice ambiance in restaurant

Nice quiet spot for a hot drink and cake

Came in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My full English breakfast was cold and unappetising, and my wife was brought a full English breakfast despite ordering a vegetarian breakfast. This was replaced, but no apology that we couldn’t eat together and service had a very absent smile. Won’t be visiting again.

For a department store restaurant, it is very good. Reasonable range of food, fair quality, tea, coffee, cakes.
