First time at the Ivy in Tunbridge Wells was good but not great. Firstly the staff were fantastic. However my wife found a bone in her duck dish but not being one to complain did not raise this at the time of the dinner. The dishes were really good and full of flavour and presented so well.Final point even though minor, we were celebrating a graduation which the restaurant knew but they did not do that little extra to make the dinner special. Will certainly give it another try and I recommend others do as well. It could be great.

Great visit for breakfast. Have a good high class experience from the meet and great to servings. However, to stay top notch kitchen must adjust with the quality of cooking. Every dish we ordered was overcooked and dry. Taste of the ham was a little bit winded and sour. Black pudding was extremely overcooked and bread bun under egg Benedict was old enough to taste like a brick.Lack of food quality really negatively affects the experience. Food should be as great as service, or the experience is suffering negative.Nice place but need improvement at the kitchen.

Can't fault the food and atmosphere, both of which were incredible! However the service of the cocktails was quite slow, our entire food order arrived very shortly after the drinks were served, all of which had been taken shortly after being seated.I'd happily come back here again as I feel overall the experience is worth the price, however it would be nice if the drink service was faster.

Really disappointing second visit to The Ivy. Our table should not have been a table at all: it was right next to the lavatories so there was a constant traffic of people throughout our meal. Every time the door opened, an icy blast hit my neck. A table for six had been placed so close that there was little room for anyone to squeeze past, and two of the larger diners found it impossible to do so without barging into my other half! This table was so bad it should have been the very last to be filled, yet when we arrived there were two other vacant tables for two.On to service: drinks were offered immediately, but it was a further 15 minutes before our food order was taken and we did not receive our starter until half an hour after taking our seats. I’d recommended the salt and pepper squid so we both chose it. Sadly, it had been left in the oven for far too long so was like eating squiggles of cardboard. The dipping sauce helped a bit, but the tiny sliver of lime (1/8 of a fruit) was wholly inadequate. I won’t risk ordering it again. Both our main courses were fabulous and beautifully cooked. The side order of peas was generous, but the chips were awful and obviously a cheap frozen product. We didn’t stay for pudding because by 9.30 everyone seemed to want the loo and it just wasn’t a good place to be. Not sure whether we will return.

upbeat atmosphere within the restaurant, beautiful decor and the foot itself was sensational. The salmon was succulent and full of flavour and the zucchini fries were endless - you could easily share a portion amongst 4! Despite the incredibly busy environment, customer service was superb.

We had a really wonderful experience at the Ivy. The food was really delicious and the service outstanding. It has been decorated in such a sumptuous way, with the restaurant walls covered with all manner of pictures, which are really eclectic, wherever you sit there will be something different to look at. I thought it might feel too crowded or busy, but it works incredibly well and the bathrooms are really beautiful, making you feel like you are in a really luxurious venue. They really pay every attention to detail. The food was delicious we had the steak tartare and from the specials board a rather unusual shepherd's pie, which was made with grouse and was decadent, but just the right portion size for lunch (not too much). For dessert we shared the apple tart, which with real flair was flambeed at the table with Calvados. This is a place to go if you want an experience as well as food. We will definitely be going back again.

Had lunch, two courses and a couple of cocktails. We were sat at the bar as we hadn’t booked, the bar stools were comfortable and I quite enjoy watching the bar staff mix cocktails. The starters and both mains were delicious. The sweet potato and chick pea curry was so light and full of flavour. The service was impeccable and all staff were professional and smartly dressed. The bar staff are very knowledgeable and know wha drink to recommend to your taste. Would definitely visit here again.

One notices the interior decor as soon as one enters. For example the ceiling is covered in a beautiful wallpaper with a cherry design. In terms of interiors the ladies loo is also extravagantly decorated with peony-like blooms suspended from the ceiling. Our party of four were shown to our table promptly and we were immediately given the bottle of prosecco we'd pre-ordered. We were there for (late) breakfast and the menu offered simple fare such as continental breakfast to a full blown full English as well as a few vegetarian/vegan savoury options. I found my choices were attractively presented and the culinary standard good but not outstanding. The service overall was efficient and unobtrusive and the ambiance charming. Prices were reasonable considering the overall experience.
