Star & Eagle Restaurant in Tunbridge Wells

We came here for dinner. It's a beautiful old building and staff are friendly. We got drinks at the bar and then went to out table and ordered food. It took an hour and 20 minutes for the food to arrive. We had to repeatedly ask for things that should have been provided - water, condiments etc. There was no dressing for the salad on the plate. If you're vegetarian or vegan there is almost nothing here for you.The chicken was so dry it was inedible, I have never been served such dry chicken in my life before. It was quite literally inedible. It then took half an hour and three requests to get the bill.This restaurant needs a proper manager and a decent chef

Food was delicious, lovely part of Goudhurst with beautiful views across the church when sitting outside.Staff were amazing, polite and very accommodating to my indecisive other half!Not much parking though but I'm sure if we had needed to we would have found somewhere.

Enjoyed a Saturday lunch with my Wife, try the Scallops as a starter and pan fried monkfish really first class.

Held up in traffic at corner by church when a large lorry and a cement mixer lorry blocked the road . Neither would reverse inorder for traffic to move. Shouldn't be allowed. No large lorries go through Goudhurst.

We had dinner here on Saturday for my hen party (24 people) and everything from start to finish was amazing. A beautiful find, the food was excellent and the team and Lizzie were so accommodating from the moment I enquired with them. We even went back for Sunday lunch the next day. Would highly recommend eating here! Thank you!

Absolutely stunning. We were guests at a wedding and were lucky enough to have a room too!Couldn't fault it, the food was piping hot even though 30 odd orders came out at the same time. I had the chicken which was delicious and similarly everyone around me said the Beef Wellington was the best they'd had. All 3 courses were just perfect.The staff couldn't do more for us, all so friendly and all went the extra mile.Our bedroom was on point, the only downside was the little UHT milks (purely because I dislike them!) - which you would expect anyway.Thank you so much for making our friends day so special, as well as for the rest of us too!

I came to this beautiful old 14th century Tudor timbered hotel for lunch and my party were met by a very charming waiter. He could not have done more to make us comfortable and welcome, he was highly courteous and professional and the staff were very efficient. Our food was perfectly cooked and chosen from a good sized and varied menu. The ambience and decor of the restaurant is very pleasing and relaxing. Bearing in mind the quality of the food, service and general experience of this place I would say it is well worth a visit and the prices were fair.

Booked for Sunday lunch with no prior expectations of the pub. It by far exceeded our expectations, plenty of seating on the outdoor terrace in the sunshine, staff were exceptionally friendly and made a complete fuss of my daughter. The food was absolutely delicious, we ordered the Sunday roasts which were served quickly and are arguably the best Sunday roast we have ever had when eating out. Equally the rest of the food we saw coming out to other tables looked extremely appetising. Prices were beyond reasonable considering the quality of the food, service, wine etc. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend others visit also.
