Friendly village pub with a good selection of grub and entertainment. Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely land lady

Great staff, really friendly, the food is really nice, roast dinners are plentiful, a choice of meats are available. I've also had a pizza from here which are homemade from the base up. Not expensive either. Will be going back

Good food and friendly staff and service. A little empty for a Sunday but good place to stop when passing through town.

Possibly the worst Sunday lunch I've ever had. Firstly the pub was freezing. We had to wear coats as it was so cold inside (there was a fire place, but it looked like it hadn't been lit for a few years). Then the veg arrived about 10 minutes before the meat, so it was cold by the time we ate it, THEN the wrong meat was served (we were given pork not lamb), nobody came to check everything was okay and I think there was a total of 3 other customers in there, so hardly busy. We pointed out the mistake when our plates were collected and we were given a limp apology. Finally to top it off they tried to charge us for the more expensive lamb instead of the pork. They did finally refunded the incorrect dish. Just a really bad Sunday lunch, poor service and a bit of a joke to be honest. There's a reason the other pubs nearby are much busier.

Lovely little friendly place. Food was gorgeous. Open fire and christmas lights, loved it here.

Nice country pub. Friendly staff, good food and the beer I had was lovely. On the day we visited the pub was a little cold, but having said that in early October it is difficult to know when to start the heating. One other point was while the food was lovely and hot the plates were cold so the food cooled off a little quicker than I would like. Would visit again should I be in the area again.

Excellent Sunday lunch. More than enough. Let down by lack of atmosphere and non existent staff after the main course. I wanted a dessert, but no-one came to take my order. I had to go look for someone to get my bill in the end. They had enough staff. They just weren't serving. Another star when that changes.

Fantastic. They accommodated us on bank holiday when every other pub would not, and allowed us to take our bikes through to the beer garden. Service great; good great. No qualms in giving 5 stars.
