Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Lunch here after walking from South Hinksey. Great view out over the fields from the balcony. Our starters were generously portioned and well presented. The roast was one of the best I've had in a long time. Such a generous portion of beef, and the horseradish mayo was great. Service was a little slow, the roast potatoes were a little overdone, and £20 for a roast does seem a little on the pricey side, even for Oxford. But still enjoyed eating here and will definitely be coming back!

HiFirst time visited this lovely country pub in Boars Hill since it changed hands. Great views from rear of property. Good range of beer, daily specials in addition to regular menu. Both enjoyed our fish and chips (chunky, not skinny like some places). Tasty coffee to follow brought bill to around £25 per head. Service was good, friendly with charge included in bill.Definitely still on 'go to ' places when in areaDecent size car park

Fantastic pub with great eclectic interior and service was superb - enjoyed my lunchtime sandwich tremendously. A great all round pub in a lovely location.

Was disappointed that they ran out of the lamb as that was the main reason my husband and I decided to have our Sunday lunch here but I ended up ordering the beef which turned out to be quite nice so pleasantly surprised

Definitely one of my best real "British PUB" experience. Both food and service was amazing.Very warm , friendly and professional staff.Food just on point. To make it review short, I could tell you that it was worth coming back to Oxford on bike in the chilly evening. Will definitely come back. And google reviews are definitely underrating this place I can reassure you of that. This place deserves at least 4.7/5.Enjoy your visit here.Alan.

Pleased with the refreshed Fox following our first visit since it reopened earlier in 2022. Food was excellent - best burger and steak we’ve had in this pub for a long time. Nice outdoor areas and views as ever from the two seating areas at the back of the pub. The new tenants have made some great changes such as removing the smoking shelter that was next to the front door so much more inviting for potential customers.

It had been many years since I came here previously, but had fond memories. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet up to any of them. We found the pub to be very cold, despite the radiators being on. It was sadly lacking in Christmas cheer or decorations. The coffee machine wasn't working so was offered an instant one. Only one vegetarian choice on the menu was extremely disappointing. Have posted a photo of the Chicken Chasseur I ordered, which mostly tasted ok, although the mushrooms were quite chewy (frozen & microwaved??). The chips were nice and hot. The service was acceptable, but no-one checked all was OK once the food was delivered. I'm not sure I will be returning any time soon and could not be overly positive about recommending to others.

Really nice place, decorations inside are very cosy. Chairs were extra comfortable. So what I didn't like and the 4 stars is for the price. Price is just too high for meals and the portions are small. It was tasty and fine but for that amount I expected more meat and more chips. Overall a nice Inn to get food enjoy the environment and relax with your family. Cheers 🥂

Serve bombardier on tap, that's a great start! And the Sicilian lemonade and elderflower drink was very refreshing too. Nice greeting and smelt beautiful upon entry. Hand dryer in gents toilet was noisy and ineffective, but that's the only complaint really. The halloumi chips were amazing, there were 5 but I forgot to photo first 😂Main course was wonderful too. Highly recommended. This is a must visit on the Oxfordshire area for foodies or people who like a good feed.Well done

Lovely little pub with nice walks around. Went there on a Sunday and their pork roast for 2-3 people to share is delicious. Great local beers and a very good and unusual wine list helped us washing down the feast. Comes with high recommendations. Bookings are advised though (and make sure you ask for the pork sharer when booking, they occasionally run out).
