Frozen in Vale of White Horse

Had a lovely lunch here after a special family event. The staff where welcoming and friendly, and the food was well presented and tasty.We forgot to pre book which in retrospect wasnt fair on the staff, however they managed to accommodate 11 adults and 3 children at short notice, something I highly appreciated.Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for about a week while in the area. The facilities were excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful. The pub had great food and friendly faces.

One of my favourite pubs in the area. The staff are very friendly and a good selection of beers on tap. Dog friendly and always has the fire lit in the winter. Couldn't ask for more!

Went here today for a drink, good staff, friendly and attentive. I noticed they do a roast meal there, £15-50, in house aged sirloin. I saw a few plates being served, massive amount of meat.. looks great value. I shall experience very soon. 🙂

A truly outstanding experience, stunning surroundings in an old classic English pub. Food was probably the best I've ever tasted, simple menu but amazing attention to detail. Grounds are extensive and although didn't venture outside, I'm sure it is just as eloquent as the rest of the establishment. Couldn't fault the service either, super friendly. Would I go back? 100% I would and will be! The beef, ale and mushroom pie is just amazing!

5 stars, except that they closed the kitchen early, after telling me they would be open until 8:15. Man was I hungry that night. Everything else is super well done. Breakfast was amazing, room was spacious, warm, clean and well appointed.

Really helpful and friendly staff who will go out of the way to help guests! Great rooms with a beautiful bath for that long soak after walking several hours and especially after only two hours sleep the night prior a comfy bed on The Ridgeway.. Would give more stars but lacks a broad enough variety of a menu with the non carnivore meat 🥩 eater considered as the mainstream felt like it was the 1970’s in this day and age, only one hot dish and a salad out of a massive selection of meat dishes is somewhat bizarre! Come on you can do much better …

Great pub for a lunchtime pitstop whilst doing one of the White Horse walking routes. Burger was delicious, service was friendly and speedy, and atmosphere was lovely. A few nice tables out the front, and a big beer garden out the back as well. Good beers on tap too. Top marks - will definitely come back.

High quality accommodation and a charming country pub. Stayed here whilst walking the Ridgeway and found this to be a perfect stop. Very comfortable rooms which are well specified. A charming country pub too with good food and a lively buzz with locals and tourists all enjoying a tipple.

Absolutely lovely accommodation, pub and friendly servers and chef. There is also a really nice coveted outdoor space and an open beer garden, plenty of parking and a short drive to Uffington White Horse car park. Breakfast included in accommodation was absolutely lovely too! As a vegan unfortunately there was nothing on the menu I could eat so I had a side salad and a side of chips so that would be my only thought for improvement, the food for meat, fish and dairy eaters looked lovely!
