What a great fish and chip shop! chips are always hot and served with pride and a smile. Curry sauce is a must and is one of the best things sold at this fine establishment. Prices are nothing special, but nonetheless reasonable, look out for the £1 cone of chips deal, more than worth it, Would definitely reccomend!.

Been here twice now and chips have been good. Had to queue but expect that with restrictions and at busy times. Prices for chips are on par with other shops. Fish quality is good and Cod and Haddock was good and meaty. Curry sauce was okay.

·

Very good fish and chips but mushy peas tasted burnt! Otherwise it would have been 5 stars

Ripping off children buying chips on their way home from school with fees to pay by card.I visited later to get a refund of the fee charged to my child and point out what he was doing was illegal, puts him in breach of contract with his card payment provider, breaches Visa's Operating Regulations, and that he was ripping off children who don't know better. The owner got hillariously aggressive and suggested I "be a big man instead of standing the other side of the counter" - comedy gold and I wish I'd recorded it.Justified charging the extra 50p to pay by card by saying he's charged 28p per transaction, but failed to explain why he almost doubles that fee before (illegally) passing it on. To children. Ripping them off.

Waited ten minutes which would have been fine but the chips were strangely Luke warm and the fish ended up in soft stodgy inedible batter if you can call it that. People seemed nice but the food was not

·

Great fish and chips, freshly cooked. Great quality fish and good chips. Not been here for a while but good food deserves a good review!

·

Family run shop, very nice people, good food. They accept telephone orders, which is really helpful for takeaway collection en route home.

Used to visit very regularly years ago, always thought the chips were the best around. Visited yesterday but we were disappointed, not up to the standard I remember. Lovely friendly owners though ide use again 😁

·

Very reasonably priced, although food can be very inconsistent. Some times chips are great, but the last portion I had were very hard and overcooked. Curry sauce is no where near as good as rivals.

Lovely people, great service, but quality can be variable. Sometimes the chips are excellent, but other times a bit stodgy and soft. Please try to be a bit more consistent, although from my own experience of frying chips at home, there are lots of factors in producing the perfect chips!Good fish and chips is hard to find in Oxfordshire, but Penguin is definitely one of the better chippies.
