Tandem in Vale of White Horse

Food standard has slipped somewhat since our last visit. Staff friendly and helpful......sorry but no improvement. In fact quite disappointed with this (and very possibly) last visit. Not just the Tandem but the Hungry Horse experience in general. The menus are lacking imagination and old favourites have disappeared, especially on the dessert menu which is now virtually gone. During the pandemic restrictions this was understandable and accepted, but post pandemic the situation hasn't improved. Sorry, I don't like giving bad or negative reviews, but I must tell it like it is.

Went for a birthday meal as we were taking the kids. Normally quite enjoy a hungry horse but I was somewhat disappointed. My lasagne although tasty was lukewarm (strange for the adults food to be colder than the kids hey!) but the main thing that got me was the gooey brownie for my son. It was more like a chocolate rock cake. And we had to wait ages for it to come out too!

Great scampi and chips. Fun, family-friendly atmosphere. Very large portions.

Fantastic pub, and one which has improved vastly over the years! Inside is clean and tidy, and given the fairly recent refurbishment, it has been well kept too. The food is really good stuff, with portions being of sizeable amounts, and the food itself being freshly cooked and tasty. There's a wide menu of food and drinks available, and again, the menu itself has gotten better and better with each new version over the years. The staff and friendly, welcoming, and helpful, and given the nice atmosphere inside there's nothing to really fault. Love a good Hungry Horse; it's cheap pub grub, and a great meal out for whatever occasion! 👌🏻

Meals came out slowly one meal took longer.Side order was asked for at least 4 times we wear told it was on its way meal almost finshed when the side order arrived after another prompt.Staff not friendly good to see good staff morel but not attentive to the customer. Did not ask if everything was OK with our meal..We as a family and friends have eaten hear many times standers seamed to have sliped sadly

I just had a Mac and Cheese, and a Steak there. Lovely food at a very affordable price, same goes for the drinks. A very cozy place and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend. Great job!

Off chance lunch with my partner.Planned a trip to Henley but parking was abysmal.Good friendly service as normal.All Day Breakfast with toast suited us both.The Tandem is becoming our favourite place for lunch.

It's part of the Hungry Horse chain so you know what you're getting - known brand drinks, pub favourite meals delivered so quickly they couldn't have been cooked fresh.Nonetheless, everything was clean, tasty and served with a friendly and speedy approach.No surprises, and sometimes that's a good thing.

My partner called to book the table days ago, arrived and they didn’t have our booking. We did get seated, raw chicken in the mixed grill no egg, Cajun wings covered in spice powder not cooked, literally tons of powdered spice in bottom of basket. Did speak to front of house who are lovely refund for the wings and grill they should be paid more. Chefs need training food is awful.

Booked 2 tables to fit 7 people as with covid guidelines... Anyway we got the tables next to each other (I did as for it) so we can comfortably speak. Meals was very good so do deserts. Good deals, very clean and good service.
