The Angel in Vale of White Horse

Second time earing here, unfortunately service wasn't quite as good... our drinks took ages to come, but the food made up for it! Had the Sunday roast; really good portion size and really tasty. Would recommend coming here, in fact a friend has already been off the back of our suggestion!

First meal here after numerous recommendations. Why did I wait so long? Fantastic service from the get go and backed up by very good quality and plentiful portions. Pub is in a cute area too. Highly recommended.

I was part of a group of ladies. I had Salmon Linguine main, the salmon was beautifully cooked but the linguine a bit disappointing, not enough to satisfy and the blue cheese sauce not strong enough.The Paris Brest dessert looked amazing but the 'cream' filling very synthetic tasting. The chocolate and toffee with the choux were very good.Lovely staff and good atmosphere. Would I come back,probably not.

We always enjoy visiting The Angel. There is an aura of calm within the restaurant which makes for a fine dining experience. Also the waiting staff, who are welcoming and capable, want to ensure that we feel like valued diners.Our food was served at a relaxed pace and we were not rushed to order our desserts.The meals were delicious and beautifully presented.We look forward to returning soon.

Great choice of beer and wine. Beautiful food and the building itself isn't bad either. Lovely in the Summer and Winter. Never lacks atmosphere. Extremely dog friendly.

Always amazing food with a great selection of specials. The menu is a perfect size, not too much you're overwhelmed and not so small you struggle to choose. The food is clearly all hand cooked with passion and really has that bistro feel, look and taste. The atmosphere is so friendly, warm and welcoming. We've been a number of times over the years and it's always a pleasure. The staff are fast, friendly and make a great team. It's the perfect spot for a romantic meal, a spot of lunch or even a small group. There's plenty of on site parking and a beautiful garden for the nicer weather. Oh and the gin selection... Heaven.

Very lovely country pub! Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We sat in the stables and had a wonderful evening. We had the Tapas, followed by the sea bass (would recommend highly) & steak and ale pie. Couldn’t say no to the desserts board and had the homemade sticky toffee (also loved) and the cheesecake. Even the ice cream was excellent. Will deffo recommend and return.

Superb meal for not a lot of money lovely beers and finished of with a Vesper martini I would highly recommend this lovely country pub

Dog friendly as l do not go anywhere with out them. Nice selection of good food and friendly staff. The portion of Gypsy Tart was the smallest l have ever seen in Kent and l am a bit of a expect. I had crab pasta was very tasty and hit the spot.

We went there for a late lunch on Saturday. We had tapas instead of the usual burgers, sandwiches, steak with chips. We sat in the old stable side of the restaurant. Big parking lot with outdoor seating as well.
