Went tonight for the first time since the revamp and didn't notice a huge distance. Hospitality was great, as it always is, and the mussels were delicious. Was expecting to walk in and have a "wow moment" though and didn't. Hoping to spend more time in the deck and under the newly covered outdoor area as the weather improves

It had been many years since I came here previously, but had fond memories. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet up to any of them. We found the pub to be very cold, despite the radiators being on. It was sadly lacking in Christmas cheer or decorations. The coffee machine wasn't working so was offered an instant one. Only one vegetarian choice on the menu was extremely disappointing. Have posted a photo of the Chicken Chasseur I ordered, which mostly tasted ok, although the mushrooms were quite chewy (frozen & microwaved??). The chips were nice and hot. The service was acceptable, but no-one checked all was OK once the food was delivered. I'm not sure I will be returning any time soon and could not be overly positive about recommending to others.

Booked a table for 2pm on 28th December. Almost empty pub, 3 people working. Took over 5 minutes to be seated as apparently it took 3 people to serve one person at the bar. We were eventually shown our table, not asked if we would like drinks. 20 minutes later, still no one had been to see us to ask what we would like to drink or ask if we were ready to order. Left in total disgust at the appalling lack of service.

I called into the Inn today to purchase a lunch voucher for a beautiful couple that have assisted the NHS throughout the last year , working tirelessly , dedicating personal time, love and support to vulnerable adults in the rural areas, I asked to purchase a £25 voucher as a thank you lunch, and the proprietor doubled the value from the kindness of his heart ❤ what a beautiful gesture, it bought a tear to my eyes as valued support for all our amazing front line workers has undoubtedly kept us genuinely upbeat in so so many challenging days.. A TRUE GENT and of course fantastic food...cannot recommend highly enough..the voucher I am sure will be hugely received with gratitude and thanks.

I’ve been coming to the fox for years and have seen it change hands almost every year. This pub has great potential but it never quite knows what it wants to be. The reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because I came back for the first time in 8 months and while the girls behind the bar were lovely we quickly got the message that shortly after 9:30 on a Friday they were closing up and wanted us out, this is certainly not the service at the flowing well (it just so happened they were fully booked this evening) nothing seems to have changed since I met with the girls here 8 months ago, a real shame we really want to like this place.

Great lunch food selection, good quality, flavour and value. Friendly welcome, fantastic views and easy walks in the surrounding countryside.

Really nice place, decorations inside are very cosy. Chairs were extra comfortable. So what I didn't like and the 4 stars is for the price. Price is just too high for meals and the portions are small. It was tasty and fine but for that amount I expected more meat and more chips. Overall a nice Inn to get food enjoy the environment and relax with your family. Cheers 🥂

Serve bombardier on tap, that's a great start! And the Sicilian lemonade and elderflower drink was very refreshing too. Nice greeting and smelt beautiful upon entry. Hand dryer in gents toilet was noisy and ineffective, but that's the only complaint really. The halloumi chips were amazing, there were 5 but I forgot to photo first 😂Main course was wonderful too. Highly recommended. This is a must visit on the Oxfordshire area for foodies or people who like a good feed.Well done

Lovely little pub with nice walks around. Went there on a Sunday and their pork roast for 2-3 people to share is delicious. Great local beers and a very good and unusual wine list helped us washing down the feast. Comes with high recommendations. Bookings are advised though (and make sure you ask for the pork sharer when booking, they occasionally run out).

The best Sunday roast I've had in a long time. We were just passing and the staff were really welcoming. It was all very relaxed and they couldn't do enough for us. I can honestly say I enjoyed every mouthful of dinner, such tender beef, and dessert. The vanilla custard was amazing. Highly recommended.
