A much needed dinner date away from the kids. Really quick to seat us and gave us time to choose what we wanted. The food was presented really well and generous potions with exquisite tastes. The guy waiting on our table (his name is Will) is a credit to restaurants. Very cheerful, friendly, helpful, discreet and cared about the experience of the customers. Asked us about our experience at the end and was just the kind of staff you want in a place like that.A big thank you to Will and all the team

A great hotel for bikepacking the King Alfred's Way with secure metal lockers for the bikes. Be aware the food is Michelin starred so tasty but not your usual pub grub. Rooms were very nice and comfy.

Superb food in a relaxed, dog friendly pub. Small, but nice selection of ales on tap. Plenty of garden space and good parking. Not far from the Uffington White Horse.

This is the second time I have eaten here and the food and service have been excellent on both occasions. It isn't the cheapest but I feel you get what you pay for (in a good way!) and there's a lovely relaxed atmosphere too. Plus it's dog friendly as well! I look forward to coming back soon.

We all really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. We’ll be back soon. Staff were very bright and friendly. Food very good. Very dog friendly. Appreciate having proper linen napkins, paper menus and fresh flowers on the table. Nice selection of soft drinks (although kombucha would be a welcome addition). The owners clearly focus on attention to detail i.e. printing leaflets detailing circular walks from the pub. All round it’s a much better foodie pub than the nearby Eyston Arms.

A very warm welcome from the team on New Year's day, full menu available too. Some of the best deserts we have eaten in a long time. Beautifully presented and truly delicious. Mains and starters as good as might be found, all made on site. As should be the case they have a few standard dishes, burger ( vegetarian available), fish and chips, steak, then a pleasing selection of others not always seen. The menu changes frequently do look for the novelties.A good choice or beers, well kept, too many wines and a decent gin menu completes the offer. As many Covid precautions as can be tolerated are in use.It may be a little off the beaten track but make the trip if within 20 minutes drive, or make it the centre of a day out. Booking in advance recommended.

Went for our Christmas Eve dinner last night and was very happy. Excellent food very well cooked and presented. Staff all very happy and attentive (always a good reflection on decent management). Beer is always very well kept and we sat in our favourite spot next to the fireplace. Don’t hesitate to go there, you won’t be disappointed.

Lovely country pub with a good ambience. Friendly and helpful staff. Good and well kept beer and an interesting menu. We went for Sunday lunch. Be warned that the portion sizes are generous so we were struggling to eat all the main course after a large starter, so no room for pudding. Great if you have a big appetite.
