Beautiful location and pub. Staff really friendly and the food is exceptional. Friend and I both had the venison pie and it was simply delicious. Good value for money. Will definitely visit again.

Beautiful location over looking The Thames, clean friendly pub, great service from Elisha, who had a bubberly personality, food delicious, highly recommend when visiting Abingdon

A frequent coffee stop at the Nag’s head at lunch time to break up the day. The idyllic interiors and riverside views makes the Nag’s head a great pit stop regardless of in company or alone. The staff are also very attentive and vibrant :).

Not a regular, sad pub lunch. Company Christmas lunch held here - I was very happy with the vegan options on the menu. Plating of food was beautiful and definitely chef prepared.Hygiene was above average.Definitely recommend and deserves 4 stars for pub!

A Brakespear Pub, renovated about 7 years ago and still looking good. We went in December so ate inside but it also has great outdoor areas right on the Thames. Friendly staff and the food was very good though the higher end of pub food prices but the venue justifies this.

Really lovely setting on the river. We enjoyed a meal for 8 people. Booking was a little curious because we had to wait to see if our online booking was accepted, rather than getting an instant response. Then a few days later, a further email arrived asking for credit card details to cover a no show charge. No earlier reference was made to this, so we questioned if it was genuine. On the day, we were treated to very nice food - we mostly selected from the Sunday roast menu. Service was very welcoming and of a high quality with a great depth of knowledge about the menu. The only reason I have reduced the star rating to 4 is that they were very, very busy , which had the knock on effect of increasing time between us being served quite a bit. We were refunded our first round of drinks due to slow service, which was a great gesture we didn't even have to request. I don't blame the management for packing people in after the last 18 months of trade loss. However, it made our meal quite slow. We were a family group and needed service to be a little more prompt between courses.

What a fantastic pub! Beautiful setting, the most attentive, friendly waitress, ( she was young and trendy with shaved head and tattoos) Food? Out of this world! We had a roast, it was for two, but 3 of us couldn't finish it! They were very good with my daughter who has Coeliac disease, everything was checked for wheat, and the chef, well, what an amazing cook! The vegetables were sublime!

We had dinner here during the summer, on a gorgeous sunny evening. We had pre-booked because it's a very popular venue. The staff are welcoming and efficient providing a good service. There's different sections of the restaurant. One area has pizza only. We sat on the other terrace and had the a la carte menu. Both areas overlook the river. Dogs are permitted outside, but I'm not sure if the same rule applies for indoors. Different dietary requirements are also met. Three of us had a range of drinks, mains, puddings and coffees. The cost was £100. A great place to visit.

Great pub with a large garden that has a separate bar and kitchen. Dog friendly and if your coming by boat there is a mooring at the end of the garden.

Wonderful location right on the river, perfect for a sunny day. Food was also very nice and a fair price.
