The Volunteer Inn in Vale of White Horse

Had a great couple of hours here in the bar with 3 lovely locals James, Steve and Martin. They chatted and played darts with us.The room was nice too. Will return if the same locals are there 😃

Excellent breakfast and great staff, as always.

Very nice food, great service.

Stopped for breakfast Probably the only place for miles around open for full English breakfast early on a Sunday morning. Good price , good food all with a smile and a hot coffee. Will be back.

Looks odd from the outside needs to be made more clear this is a pub for all and not just b&b customers. Good clean pub, friendly service,.decent pint.

Georgina is the ultimate landlady. This place is a truly excellent free house and quintessential local pub and accommodation experience. Support local establishments. This place is a beacon of why you should do so

Very good little pub. I didn't know what to expect, but it was a nice surprise to see the pub inside. The bartender was very friendly and polite and excellent service.

Friendly welcoming staff, i don't drink alcohol but had a lovely cup of tea and some delicious cake en route to a business meeting for just £3.50..

I've sort of put of calling in here for a while, but I was really pleasantly surprised by the spot. The landlady or head bar maid was super friendly and the beer on tap is top quality. Will happily call in here again.

I stayed here 3 nights for work and it was ideal. Better priced than a Premier Inn at the time, the room was comfortable so I slept well. In the evenings the restaurant was quiet (during the week) but served delicious food in sensible quantities, with great beer on tap and always coming in below my expenses limit - my idea of a perfect stay for work.
