Bel & The Dragon in Waverley

Excellent food utterly let down by inattentive and sloppy service.Left waiting over 15 minutes with dirty plates despite idle staff ignoring me. Some staff were very anxious when it came to service and or had little knowledge of the menu.It's a shame as the food was excellent and really let down by the front of house.

We visited The Sculpture Park opposite so booked lunch at the Bel & Dragon. We really enjoyed our visit. Staff were welcoming and friendly and service was good. The food was good pub grub - enjoyed by children and grown ups alike!

You can use their Car Park for going into The Sculpture Park. Lovely place for Lunch & a drink after a long walk round the Park. Good full Lunch Menu, very good Food. Service, full on. Makes an enjoyable day.

Good food, lovely staff and nice rooms for the price.The food: We eat out a lot, and can honestly say that the food is good but is most definitely overpriced for what it is. There’s better restaurants that serve better food for the price, however, the staff are nice and it’s a lovely building with beautiful decor so everything combined makes the sting of the bill a little better.The rooms: The rooms for the price were good, we had a small double and it set us back just £54 including breakfast so in reality the room itself was closer to £42 + £12 for breakfast. And for that price it was great, the bathroom didn’t have a door on it strangely but it was a cosy room with a great shower. Next time we’ll pay £10 more and try out the bigger room though, just to see the difference.The breakfast: This was great, especially since it was cheap and included with the room. It was probably the best avocado on toast I’ve ever had, complete with tomato and chilli 🌶.Overall it was a great stay, soured only a little by the price of the dinner.

Perfect night out for my husband's birthday... so many pubs near us have very average food now and poor choice IMO and this meal was just lovely and service could not have been better too.

Bel & Dragon is really coziness personified! Such nice coffee roasted by Brewer Street. Delicious pigs in blankets with light maple syrup. All wrapped up in sumptuous sofas, fireside tables and gold standard service through. We’re staying nearby so will be popping back for a mulled wine or two

Accommodation was reasonably priced for a large room with an equally large bathroom and shower, although we were in the slightly dilapidated ‘cottage’.Had dinner, beer was well kept and the staff were friendly and attentive. Must say it seemed very expensive for what it was, pleasant steak and burger with a shared pudding and a glass of wine for nearly £100, a bit steep.Breakfast was some strange porridge which actually tasted pretty good and again staff were lovely. A bit of a mixed bag really.

We were a large group and had a great stay. The food was excellent and the staff were brilliant - particularly the young waitress who was very attentive and with good humour. The room was also lovely - only minor criticism is that the duvet (although clearly luxury) was too thick/hot.

Lovely room, nice staff and tasty food. Full English Breakfast was really tasty, smashed avocado on toast was a thin spread of brown avocado on cold toast but dinner the night before was really good. Staff were all very nice, the young wait staff guessed that the pasta on the kids menu was spaghetti (it was fusilli) but my kid eats both so it wasn't a problem. Room was clean and spacious, with nice touches. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again if we were in the area.
