The lift just about takes a small wheel chair. The rest of the hotel seems fine, was dropping my son off who is in a temporary wheelchair. His room was lovely with a large wet room bathroom but on the second floor!

A delightful hotel set in an absolutely stunning location. The staff were friendly and kind and with a Lake View Balcony room, we had the best view in the hotel. The food was delicious...especially the breakfast. Highly recommend the Belgium waffles.A visit and birthday treat I won't forget.

Fabulous hotel with own private gardens down to Ullswaters waters edge ...great views. Recommend to book the orangery and ask for a window table with lake view. We dined in the orangery for lunch great menu delicious food ..we were not hurried and ended up staying over 2 hours with well stocked bar then coffee enjoying the view.

Afternoon tea was pleasant. Served in two phases which is different but not bad, as the table didn't get overcrowded and a nice break between savoury and sweet. The setting was lovely and it was very relaxing.Only small negatives were they were slow to take an initial drinks order, they didn't clear away empty cups/plates, which took up a lot of room on a small table, until we asked for them to be removed and we had a few things missing from our sweet part of the tea that we had to request but they were brought straight out.

My partner booked this for my birthday as a treat, I have honestly no bad words at all. Hotel staff are all lovely, friendly and kind. The hotel itself is absolutely 5*. The rooms are lovely - modern & clean. The views from the hotel are absolutely stunning. All pics in this review were taken on hotel grounds/at the hotel restaurant. Many options for breakfast which was also great. The staff at breakfast are also really really lovely. We had such a perfect 3 nights and if we ever return to the Lake District, will definitely be staying here again no doubt. Special shout out to the waiter who had managed to get me the caramel & apple cheesecake on my last night!! We had returned just past 9pm, even though it was past serving time, he asked if it was still available and managed to get me a slice!! Loved that cheesecake! And the dark chocolate torte & raspberry sorbet was also deeeeelicious!

Our daughter got married in this hotel 20yrs ago we have been going back nearly every year since then . Our latest visit was to celebrate their wedding anniversary, we had a wonderful time as always .Gary has been the manager at this hotel for as long as we've been visiting it and probably longer all his staff think very highly of him , they have suffered loss of staff through the pandemic as most businesses have but the quality of our stay was just as fabulous as always . Gary was to be seen helping staff clearing tables in the restaurant helping with the cleaning , most bosses would consider it beneath them . The food was amazing as always the staff were lovely helpful and friendly. I couldn't recommend the inn on the lake enough .

This is a beautiful setting with nice communal areas. I didn't stay in a room, we booked a "special" Sunday 3 course lunch. The food tasted good, however the main meal was really disappointing. Half a potato each, 2 slices of roast beef and a tiny saucer of veg between us. A senior staff member came over when we'd almost finished and I mentioned the problem. They didn't have any more roast potatoes apparently, so he gave us a tiny saucer of new jacket potatoes and some more veg, we had to ask for more gravy too and weren't offered any condiments. I have to say he was polite, but seemed a little disgruntled about our feedback, which was relayed calmly and polite. It killed the experience for me. I loved the place, but I won't eat there again sadly. poor value for money.

Absolutely love the Orangery and Ramblers bar. I often take visitors to my home in Kendal over here. The views from the Orangery are stunning. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and the food is always wonderfully cooked. Top marks to the chef and their team.

My wife and I went for lunch at The Inn on the Lake, and we absolutely loved it. The space was beautiful, with stunning views of the lake, the food was excellent (best salt and pepper squid I've ever tasted), and the staff were all friendly and helpful and reflected really well on the establishment. We shall definitely be back.

We have just had a one night stay here and we have to say congratulations to all of the staff we came into contact with for making it so pleasurable and relaxing. From Ellie and Anne on reception (who must rank with the best of any hotel) to James at dinner, it was faultless. The room was beautifully clean, and the hotel goes to the greatest of lengths to provide a Covid compliant environment, without it staring you in the face - well done. The ability to have your own chilled water and milk in the room, provided from dispensers in the corridor, was brilliant. The food was very good and fresh, and provided with minimum delay.Thank you to everyone, and we'll done!!We'll be back.David Jackson
