Shepherd & Flock Pub in Waverley

Went with friends for drinks and dinner last week, after checking food would be available in advance, arrived to be told not doing food. Went to Six Bells instead and had a lovely evening .

Be aware the menu has changed during covid to a limited range of burgers and pizzas. If you are looking for the famous Shepherds pie then check it is available before you visit. This was on Wednesday and Sunday when we last visited.

I last visited this pub back in 2020 just before the lockdowns happened. I received great service from Chloe B. I came twice (both times in the evening) this week and can't complain, and will certainly visit again. A good selection of ales and they were very good at ensuring I signed in and didn't forget to wear my mask! It was good to be back. A good selection of ales on tap and nice to shoot a few games of pool with the locals.

Admittedly just after pubs reopened but we booked a table for 5 to eat. We asked on booking if they were serving food. The answer was "yes we do food but it's basically burgers and pizzas and stuff " so we booked .... the pub is not particularly well maintained and the food it transpired is served from a hut . It was delivered to our table in polystyrene containers inside a brown bag. We then had to request cutlery and sauces and some missing items from our order. Which was met with not very helpful response.. The burgers were OK though bit not the pub meal we were expecting . As we went out to have a meal and not to have a drink it was a disappointing evening. Staff need to clarify the situation !!!!

Feels a bit unpersonal with its service as have to order on your phone and its by the main road which isn't a great location but decent beer and prices. The burger van outside however serves absolutely fantastic food! Only reason I keep going back really

A highly enjoyable lunch in the Sun; good food and great service combined to make a first post-lockdown pub lunch all we hoped it would be. The owner/management has clearly spent some time making things as good as possible within the currently parameters they have to work within but all went very smoothly.

Superb pub with friendly staff. They are doing an outdoor table service which worked really well. At the time I went it was drinks and snacks. There is is a food hub in the carpark but check opening times before you go. Excellent pub.

I cannot recommend highly enough regarding service. I am vegan and gluten free and the chef comes out to speak me through what he can rustle up and it always comes with a smile and delivers on taste. They are continuously looking at ways to spice up the menu, the wait staff are delightful and accommodating and the pub itself is cosy, warm and English.Highly recommend!

Probably passed this pub a hundred times over the past years. Saw the beer garden was pretty packed. Well spaced so decided to take a look . Good range of drinks and staff were friendly and a good laugh. Definitely be back for a meal here as here they are great! Thanks

First visit and given website comments about cellar management expertise and chef experience was expecting a great deal more than we got! Firstly my pint of Theakston's was flat as a pancake...and tasted off. Took it back, to be told "I'm not surprised"... What sort of response is that!!!!! Terrible! The pasta dish was bland and boring...no garlick AT ALL and the chicken was white... should have some colour. The source watery. Any self respecting chef would not allow over the pass!! All in all I will NOT be back! This pub needs a landlord that shows some interest and imagination and desperatly needs action! Sunday and empty.
