Sun Inn in Waverley

Definitely reccomend. Staff are friendly and welcoming. I have stayed here for work in area on a few occasions and I'm very happy with all they do. Rooms are clean tidy and well maintained. Management are loverly. I will always use the Sun when I'm in the area. Excellent for sports and lots of choice. Live bands at weekends. Job well done 👏

Ok. A pub. Sells refreshments. Service good from nice lady behind bar. 5pm visit maybe not best time to judge.

Godalming and its surrounds has many pleasant pubs and was just a case of eventually coming around to venture into here for sake of balance. On initial entry, was tired, smelt bad and very unwelcoming looks. Dreary selection of drinks but made the best. Within a few minutes, was a lot of bad language and unpleasantness noted from a customer. Shockingly, when seeing others reactions, it turns out it was the landlord! What a thoroughly unpleasant character, insulting and swearing at all and sundry. Really couldn't believe it. To be that drunk and unpleasant at your own hostelry. Was like an episode of Shameless. Avoid at all costs!

Fabulous traditional town pub. The staff are friendly and welcoming and Joe the chef makes superb Sunday lunches.

Best Sunday Roast in Godalming!

I have been drinking here for over 20 years.The Sun Inn is the best-run pub in Godalming - it has reasonably priced beer, excellent food and a brilliant atmosphere.What more can you ask for?

Always such a pleasant experience with good food, good selection of drinks and very friendly staff, I would recommend this pub to anyone wanting to spend an evening with a happy vibe 👍

Best pub in the area. Great bands, good for watching a match, but most importantly they really look after their beer. Don't miss out!

Just one unique problem: the landlord. The landlord has not manners at all, he is oafish and boor, and also sneaky homophobic. It's a shame because the pub is great, all the staff members are fantastic, the people friendly, they have nice and great beers, with live music in the weekend and the chef is simply the best, (try his steak, it's the best of Surrey). Unfortunately the landlord is not like a Good Lord at all, extremely rude and aggressive. I spent almost the 30% of my salary in that pub each month. He probably is a rich man now, but it's just a poor man. He was like a beast with my friends without a reasonable motivation (maybe because they are lesbians, or maybe because one of them is a transgender). If I want to watch the beasties I would go to the zoo instead. Everyone can run a pub, it is not a rocket science, but few people really know the meaning of the word 'hospitality'. I am very sorry...I will miss that place, but they will miss me as well.
