The Alfred Free House in Waverley

Absolutely lovely. A great beer pub that serves excellent home cooked food. Bright and airy interior. Lovely staff. Sadly I live 80 miles away!

Best Sunday lunch we’ve had this week! (Okay -ever…!) great local roast lamb with more veg than you ca shake a stick at including a beautiful cauliflower cheese. Followed by a superb ‘Eton Mess’. All washed down by a selection of ‘real ales’. Back home within five minutes for extra insulin and a post prandial snooze😁

Always fabulous food, and wonderful customer service from the lovely staff.

Lovely roast dinner, was massive loads of meat and veg. Puddings were really nice. Very busy. Little bit cold as sat by the door. But food and staff lovely

My girlfriend booked a table here quite last minute. And if I'm honest I am so glad she did. The food is excellent, I had a roast pork and it was delicious... but the beers these guys have available in unreal.. coupled with the service this is an awesome pub...

Having visited this pub once before for a quick drink and to get out of the rain one Saturday early evening, my partner and I decided to visit again to actually sit down and have a few drinks this evening. We thought it was a lovely pub, warm and cosy with a lovely barmaid who remembered our drinks and made us feel welcome. However, we were approached by the older gentleman and told to keep quiet (I was only showing my partner a clip of a good movie) which wasn't loud, as he could hardly hear it!!! Very rude. Such a shame, as we were looking at the menu and it looks so good. I don't like to be told of like a child and feel humiliated.

Superb locally run and independent pub, serving carefully and expertly selected local, independent and craft beers and ales - a true testament to a Great British Pub.I had a wonderful experience and this was topped off with a delicious, hand made and fresh £10 burger that was absolutely delectable with every last bite.I found this pub on a whim looking for a place to eat before a long drive home, I ended up spending most of the evening here, no regrets at all!The manager had no tables to serve me to eat but assured me I would be fed and allowed me to eat in the bar section of the resraurant, at all times I was looked after and every detail was catered for, I was very grateful for being able to be served as a walk in customer and it was lovely to see such a small pub bustling with localsThe bar staff had superior knowledge of his beers and was able to guide me to the perfectly pallatable pint for my tastes, very courteous and even remembered my name when ordering a second time. You just dont get this kind of service at any old pub. Absolutely, 110% recommend. Please visit if in the Farnham or surrounding areas. You. Will. Not. Regret. It.

I really wanted to give you all a good pictures before I devoured this amazing burger! All of their burgers here are amazing and I will try all of them! They have them in beef chicken and veggie option with some vegan as well. Friendly staff and good local people! Come and have it a go!

Great staff and great beers food looks amazing but didn't have any this time round

Went for burger night the other day, £10 a meal i believe it was. Food was so nice, best burger i have had in ages. Staff were all friendly. Not being a pub connoisseur i wasn't sure what beer to have and the guy (i think he had dreads) was very helpful and patient with me whilst i decided.
