The Barley Mow Tilford Restaurant in Waverley

First time I've been! I've driven past so many times and never stopped for a drink. Chantelle pours a wonderful pint of Guinness!!! Thoroughly recommend this lovely English village pub...

The young woman who served me my cider was lovely. All members of staff were friendly and excelled in serving some very thirsty people.It was the ideal place to be while watching the cricket.***We attended this place again in February 2022. The members of staff were very helpful. We asked if they were doing food. They informed us that although the kitchen was closed, there were pizzas available next door. The staff members had what looked like lovely food and that was nice to see. It is refreshing when members of staff are allowed to sit down and have something to eat. Not many places do this and it was great to see members of stafff having a meal and having the pub's food.The pub had a great atmpsphere and it was extremely funny to hear someone at the next table speak about how he put a tin of beans in the microwave and what obviously and subsequently transpired.I really, really liked the way in which the pub was decorated. There is also a place where people can sit in the back of the pub.***

A very nice English village pub that also serves food and has pizza too. Nice open fire and sits right on the village green too.

The pub was two staff members down today. The service was as friendly and obliging as ever but obviously strained. We waited 35 minutes for drink and our food came cold.(Was then microwaved on complaint)Normally the experience here is a good deal better but YMMV.Vegan desserts are available! My chocolate cake was intensely sweet and not that chocolatey. Still good though.Neither of the house wines I tried were particularly great.I recommend booking the main pub which is full of warmth and character, and not being sat in their new building which is stuffy, echoing and a bit clinical.Visiting for a beer in the sunshine and watching the cricket is the best way to experience the Barley Mow.

Nice country village green pub. Food was good as were the staff. It’s let down was, a small bottle of non alcoholic beer was £4 and a service charge was added. It’s a pub not a restaurant.

Amazing plant based burgers - best I've ever eaten and so welcome after our long walk! Really warm reception and efficient service, it was pleasantly busy for a Tuesday lunchtime.

Nice Country Pub overlooking the cricket pitch. I was invited by my friend's daughter to celebrate her 80th birthday there. The food was good, we had some lovely chicken or beef baguettes with chips accompanied by a glass of Prosecco. We all had a very good time!

Lovely pub in a really pretty little village. Lots of picturesque walks in the area. Has indoor dining as well as a beer garden and a small pizzeria. Food was good, reasonably priced and the service friendly and informal. Will definitely go back!

You couldn't ask for a more idyllic location for a village pub, than one that overlooks the village green.My experience here was ok. I ordered from their pizza menu which actually comes from an adjacent pizzeria. The pizza was a bit floppy, but ok. My friend ordered the dish and chips which took a full 30 minute to come. In addition two of their three ales had gone sour.I appreciate that times are very difficult for pubs at present so I'm being kind with the stars, but I feel this place could do better.

Well established village pub on the boundary of the cricket pitch. Indeed there are warnings about watching out for balls if you choose to sit in the front and watch the match. We arrived about 12.15 on a sunny Saturday in late September and had no trouble getting a table but by the time we left at about 2 it was fairly busy. Local ales and an interesting menu including home baked pizza in the garden pizza oven. The pizzas were very popular but we opted for the Barley Mow Munch (a ploughmans) which was very tasty with a good sized piece of cheese & lovely ham. Good Corona protocols in place and a very pleasant lunch stop. It was very popular with walkers and cyclists.
