Superb food, friendly and welcoming staff, this place has to be one of sussex’ hidden gems! Country food at its best, portions to suit the true working outdoors person with an appetite and cooked by someone who knows how to!

Amazing food, lovely atmosphere, beautiful open fire, friendly and attentive staff, great food quality and portion size very reasonably priced all in all a great choice for a memorable meal.

Six of us went for lunch today(6th March) I every one of us were so impressed with not only a beautiful pub full of character and charm, but all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and as regards to the food, it was plentiful, beautifully presented and of high quality with plenty of fresh vegetables. The starter of scallops which my partner and I had were delicious and the roast pork was sensational and the Eton Mess was truly lovely. I’m not surprised that you have to book up well in advance and cannot recommend it highly enough, and we shall definitely be returning.Whoever manages this establishment has got it absolutely right. Thank you for a most enjoyable experience.

Good food and helpful staff.

Were driving past, saw an advert for paella, and stopped. Unfortunately, this has to be booked in advance … fair enough if you want fresh food!But we stopped and had fish and chips and smoked haddock. Excellent food; lovely service; good sized portions!Will be going back to check out the paella.

18 of us sat down to the most perfect 3 course Christmas meal we could have wished for. The staff, service & food was outstanding. As much food as you wanted, extras all round if needed. Also best home made Christmas pudding I have ever tasted. I can highly recommend Alfold Barn, for a small family meal or a huge get together, you won’t be disappointed. We certainly weren’t!! Well done all.

A fantastic building with a lovely warming fire. The food was excellent and there was so much of it. I will continue our family tradition of meeting there for our pre Xmas get together.

The Alfold hosted our birthday event for 40 people today. They did it tremendously well. The staff created a friendly, relaxed environment and were extremely professional. The food was uniformly delicious and well presented. The venue was great. Various food allergies were catered for without difficulties. The bill was extremely reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to go there again.

Great venue. Rustic ambience with a delicious menu. Service was great and the staff are really friendly and welcoming. Blessed with a gifted Chef, the Alford Barn is right up there for one of the best venues. Great for a special occasion or a cracking good quality meal out.
