Went here for a Sunday lunch with family. Had the table booked for 2pm, so not particularly later in the day but unfortunately they were already sold out of 3 types of roast! They were very accommodating though and we had roast beef - it was brilliant. The meat was perfectly cooked, huge Yorkshire puddings and great veggie sides. This is the third time I’ve been here and it has never disappointed. The decor and ambience is great. They even had live music, which was a pleasant surprise.Would highly recommend!

We came here for a Thursday night meal with the Welsh in-laws recently. The food was absolutely fantastic, very diverse menu (including good vegetarian variety), service was good. Very reasonable price, we've paid much more for less. Will be coming back.

Disappointed with the Caesar Salad. Fairly ordinary, didn't get the taste of truffle oil. Flapjack very tasty and espresso good. Service very friendly. Would visit again but choose something different.

I booked Sunday lunch here to celebrate my Dad's birthday. I somehow got this confused with another pub nearby with a similar name so I was originally a bit disappointed that I had booked the wrong pub! However, I have to say the roast was excellent, a bit more expensive than I am used to paying but very good indeed! The beef had a really unusual smokey taste which was absolutely delicious. Service was great and it has a lovely atmosphere with live music too.Would definitely go back.

Came to the pub for a Sunday roast, chose the sirloin for £24 which is on the expensive side for a roasts. When it came I had one piece of beef on my plate, when I complained I was given another piece of meat cold, not much in the way of an apology. Once I made it clear I was still not impressed I was given a drink on the house but I still don’t feel happy about the meal. My poor waitress was the only member of staff to bother with my unhappiness. Another of my party had the chicken roast, it was really half a chicken. All in all I walked out of there felling ripped off. Won’t advise going. Please see the photo below, yes I cut into it to make sure there was just one and I did move the very hard parsnips off the plate.

Lovely valentine's meal. Love the feel of the pub. Very helpful friendly staff

Such a beautiful venue. During lockdown we frequented the famous Yurt, so nice to be able to dine-in in the fabulously renovated restaurant. Seasonal menu, lovely staff, Fantastic deserts. Can't wait to come again!

Very nice setting. Had a really lovely time. I only popped in for one by the fire with my wife and all of a sudden we were dining in. The menu looks amazing. The Ale I had was an absolute winner. Its called RIP snorters by hogsback. Really tasty.Starters I had the scotch egg and it was tk die for. Warm and crispy plus full of flavor. I then had the beef cheek. It was nice. The meat was so melt in your mouth you couldn't cut it. Like poking a hot potatoe with your knife. 😁 for me the flavours were not quite there, especially in the horseradish mash which I think they maybe waved a horseradish over it, not actually cooked with it 😅 service was slow but we didn't mind. Recommended.

First time to the pub.. amazing inside and out. Very cozy and staff were very welcoming. Lorraine served us and she was brilliant! Food was also very good so will def be going back

We had the Sunday roast dinners - chicken ballotine and pork belly with all the trimmings. Both portions were small. The chicken was dry and my 2 slices of thin pork belly were small and hardly any meat on them especially for the price. It's a shame as the pub is in a lovely location. Needless to say, it's our last visit there.
