The Crown Inn in Waverley

A wonderful old inn. Very helpful staff.. Will return to eat and stay with my French friends where I live.. They would love to see such an amazing English pub!!!

Historic building in an idyllic setting. The room had fabulous, antique furniture and the whole place is hugely atmospheric. The food was excellent and the convivial feel of a local Inn made a great all round experience. Highly recommended.

Food was creative, classic quality British if you will, and very enjoyable. The Inn has recently been renovated and looks splendid. Staff are attentive, and the only shame was that being lunch we missed what look to be most splendid deserts. Beer - I had biscuit I mean why wouldn't you? - was well poured and very tasty,

The best restaurant service I have experienced in the UK. Friendly, swift, attentive but not at all cloying, thoughtful and pleasant. Whoever runs the show deserves a medal for training and leading an excellent team... Food very good and very atmospheric place...

Arrived Saturday afternoon, stayed over for Guy Fawkes. Friendly helpfull staff made our party of ten feel welcome and comfortable. Good food, good beer/wine, good service in the evening. Great breakfasts. We were all very comfortable in our rooms which were clean well equipped and characterful like the rest of this historic Inn. Booked out late Monday morning.Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

Old ,traditional local pub-restaurant with a fireplace and beams .The atmosphere is warm and cosy, staff friendly and very attentive. Great selection of traditional English food ,very nice cooked,from fresh local products.I definitely recommend it.
