The Dog and Pheasant in Waverley

A delightful surprise. Stopped by randomly, didn't expect beautiful plating, excellent flavours and big portions.

Great food. Fish pie with skin crackling and a ploughmans. Nice ambience. Friendly helpful staff.

Best pub food I have ever had in England! Normally the food is either average or quite disappointing. The Dog and Pheasant has a great atmosphere, and the food was excellent. The fish with straw fries were incredible and ribs that were falling off the bone were delicious. Highly recommend both dishes.

A beautiful country pub with stunning views over the local countryside. We had a function of 20 people in their private dining room which is a lovely room full of character. The staff were extremely attentive and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The food was excellent and they are very dog friendly. Would highly recommend!

Nice traditional Tudor style pub that offers Sunday roasts in good sized portions, with friendly, helpful staff, all at a moderate price. The pub is dog friendly & has lovely open fires, a covered outside area & pub garden where they have occasional events. Worth a visit!

Super friendly team, great quality menu and service. We were a large party and our numbers fluctuated, which must have been annoying and frustrating but Dave was consistently accommodating. On the day the pub was packed (no wonder when the menu and service are so good) and yet the service was slick and friendly and at the end of the meal each of the dogs were brought a treat. Everyone on our table agreed it's a pub worth sharing with friends and coming back to. Thank you guys!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. We arrived at noon on a Sunday without reservation and were welcomed as walk-in in the pub area of the restaurant. Meanwhile, the pub filled up and roasts started to fly out of the kitchen! Such a great sense of community, people of all ages savouring a special meal with their family and friends :)
