The Donkey in Waverley

What a find! Couldn't get in at The Mill at Elstead on a Sunday afternoon without having pre-booked so we drove down the road to The Donkey. Although they were just about to stop their afternoon sittings, they fitted us in at a table without any fuss, provided fantastic service and the food was wonderful. Such a treat to find an independent pub with brilliant food, not overpriced plus you get to have the company of donkeys!

Great food, reasonable prices.Small car park that is tricky to enter if approaching from Farnham and also to exit in both directions.Marked down a star due to an inconsiderate dog owner not clearing up after their dog. Not the pubs fault I guess.Luckily it was me that took the hit and not my grandchildren.

Lovely family run dog friendly pub. Called on a Sunday for a last minute Sunday Lunch (which was delicious) and they managed to squeeze us in despite being fully booked.Will definitely go back there soon.

The food and the service is a ten out of ten.Fresh home cooked vegetables accompanied with cracking roast potatoes and a good size portion of meat. Can't fault the pub,the food or the price, I would have to dot 2•5% as leaving and joining the road requires extra caution. But 97•5 for satisfaction is right up the top for us. Blinding effort from all the staff that make the experience most certainly one of the best.

Very traditional pub with lovely food selection. Our experience was completely ruined by the fact that we found hair in 2 of the dishes. The waitress (lady with dark hair) was very sour for our entire visit and when we mentioned about the hair she had a very mean attitude and just insinuated that the hair was ours.

Lovely Sunday roast, food definitely a must try with great size portions. Pub a little rough around the edges, but staff were friendly, attentive and super quick service. Will definitely return.

Great hosts, great food great beer. This is a place you should visit for a meal. You may pay a little more than you would for pub grub but be assured that this place provides food that is so much better quality, taste and presentation that you would expect from a country bar. This is not my first visit and I don't intend it to be my last.

Lovely pub. Good food. Reasonable prices and healthy sized portions. Definitely would describe the atmosphere here as a pub as opposed to a restaurant, so worth thinking about.

Excellent service and lovely food.We had a relaxed Sunday Roast. Covid measures in place, we were still able to see the old donkey wonder in her pen. 2 mixed roasts, 2 cokes, 2 coffees and 2 desserts came to £73.Super friendly and a lovely warm well run pub.
