We went there for lunch. The kitchen didn't receive our orders, hence the 45 minute wait for our food. Tom, the manager comped our food and took responsibility even though I offered to pay. The staff and service was great. The food was good quality, tasty and hit all the foodnotes very well. I would recommend this pub and will visit it again just for a new experience.

Grossly overpriced, minuscule portions. One 2” circular lamb noisette, minimal veg, £20. One 3” square of fish & little else £17.50. All eaten in under ten minutes. Had taken friends & felt extremely embarrassed. Servers friendly & service good but should have been as place virtually empty!One to give a miss IMO

Very busy and vibrant atmosphere, had some nice beers, the steak I had was excellent and the Merlot was extremely nice, with attentive and efficient staff in the restaurant, the bedrooms were fresh, clean, tidy and comfy.

Loved the atmosphere. The service was excellent. Felt right at home.

So last week I came here with some friends for a quiet drink and we ordered some simple cheesy chips, 30 minutes had passed so we politely asked the waitress what sort of time they would come out and she said “when there’s time for them to be cooked” she was very rude, then walked off, but the manager was good and helped us out and was apologetic which was good.Today we’ve come back because the manager was great so we thought we’d give it another go but again we ordered our first round and 25 minutes had passed no drinks, my friend went to check and the drinks were just sitting on the bar on a tray so he picked them up and took them to our table but they were room temperature! Someone behind the bar said “yeah sorry we’re busy” I get you can be busy but leaving drinks on the side for the customer to come pick them up at room temperature isn’t exactly good service.

We were invited back to dine here after a not so perfect experience the first time around. After leaving some not so positive direct feedback, the Richard Onslow contacted us directly expressing their apologies and how they wanted to give us a second chance to deliver a proper service.They did just that, not only was the food miles better on the night, the service and presentation was excellent, night and day compared to the first visit so we were really pleased and will definitely be coming back.I believe the chap's name was Tom who served us on the night, so a big Thank You to him for his excellent service!

Great Boxing day lunch. Huge portions, found out later you can ask for smaller portion. We were able to bring a doggy bag home, made a super sandwich!
