The Rose & Crown Bar in Waverley

We’re just home to Texas from a fantastic stay in England and the first 4 nights we spent at the Rose and Crown. They were super accommodating, we stayed in the Juliet suite (my two yr old and me) and we had a lovely stay. The door, as mentioned on the website, to that suite is very low but it was so fun, my son adored it and has been asking to go back to ‘his room’ since we left. The smaller room had a toddler bed and what seemed to be a twin (single) and the main bedroom had a very comfortable large I think queen bed. The bathroom was great, good shower which is always a big deal for me when traveling! Plenty of clean fluffy towels, and breakfast was great. The highlight was Leslie our hostess who served us breakfast each day. She was so thoughtful and made my very picky son the special oats he’ll eat without me having to ask which when you’re traveling alone with a toddler means so much. Delicious warm pastries, hot French press coffee and Greek yogurt with fruit was such a wonderful way to start each day. My son has asked to go and see ‘Ma’am’ many times since! The parking across the street is convenient BUT if you’re traveling internationally with a non UK phone number, you’ll need cash for the machine as I could not get the mobile app to work to buy parking tickets each day. But a small issue, out of the hands of the R&C which did not affect such a wonderful stay. Thank you for the hospitality.

Awesome décor, great atmosphere, but one dodgy cocktail - don't got for the watermelon one! Not nice lol pina colada was yum though :)

I'm so happy we booked to stay here, staff are friendly, great atmosphere and our room was super cosy, will definatly be booking again, highly recommend the cocktails. If you are looking for a fun weekend away, this is the place to go....

Good wine and I like the atmosphere. However, the food let's it down somewhat. Shame.

This pub is a gem, there is always something great on tap and a brilliant cocktail selection, really well designed interior and exterior making this a beautiful, fun and unique pub to meet friends and have a great night.

Fabulous! We stayed with our two young grandchildren in the Juliet family room. Both rooms were great and very comfortable. All the staff were wonderful particularly the manager. The pizzas and pianist were an added bonus. The best overnight pub we've ever stayed in. Thoroughly recommend this hotel. Thanks to all:)

Great venue especially the outside seating options. Good beers and wines served by pleasant staff.

The best little pub in Surrey. Easily my favourite in Godalming. We visit the town a lot to see friends and always make sure we pop into the R&C. Great beer selection, snacks and friendly staff.

Slightly pricey, but they do cocktails too..more than just the menu. It's definitely cramped inside on a Saturday night though. It's okay if you don't mind standing. Toilets are downstairs. So if you have had a bit too much to drink wait until you get home. Otherwise you may injure yourself falling downstairs!!

The Rose & Crown is my favourite pub in Godalming, it’s quirky, it’s fresh and it has a youthful vibrancy lacking in other local pubs. As a man in his thirties I’m still young enough to appreciate the exuberance of youth - a ‘Miami beach’ themed outside space in sleepy Godalming? Why the hell not! It manages to be eclectic and cozy at the same time and is equally at home being busy or quiet. They do Camden Pale Ale too, which I enjoy - I’d like to see a wider range of real ales but that’s a minor quibble. Perfectly located near the station for a post-work beer. Don Johnson would be proud.
