The Running Stream in Waverley

Thursday nights the Running Stream is visited by a burger bar called Crumpys Smoke Shack. We had the Risk it for a Brisket burger, oh so good!! The guy makes all the burgers himself. The owners father brought us over some Korean Cauliflower to try, which was also amazing. He varies the menu every week so there will always be different things to try. We talked about him expanding his Korean food range. We will definitely be back.The pub itself, the staff were friendly, it was quiet so no waiting time. From what I saw of the pub it's small but does have a beer garden.

Great local pub. Very friendly, welcoming and efficient staff. Plenty of drinks to choose from (numerous ales, ciders and lagers) and dogs are allowed. A really super place for a quick drink or a long evening with friends.

Enjoy coming here for the food vans. On Thursdays they have Crumpy's Smoke Shack which is amazing! Staff are friendly.

Refurbished and decorated during lockdown period. Good to be back in a traditional style local.

Lovely little pub. Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they went the extra mile to be helpful.Seating inside and outside.Although there was no food on offer, we were able to order for delivery. They even gave us local menus.

Have been in the Running Stream recently for Friday dinner (last couple of weeks). There was only 5 customers including us. We had the meals here, which were disappointing to say the least. The portion sizes and quality of menu has shrunk from a few months ago, and according to a member of staff they have recently changed their chef. The beef stew was very poor value for money for what you get. My partners cod was much smaller than last time, and she said it tasted no different than the Birdseye packets. Evidently, the roast dinners on Wednesdays have ceased too. On top of this the drinks here are a tad expensive as well, ours was well over £9 for two people. Needless to say the landlady (Caroline) must improve this. She is talking about altering the menu to make the meals easier to prepare, which is a retrograde step. It is a shame, as you pay around £16-20 for two dinners, and you can now get better elsewhere for that money. We will not be eating here again for a long while.
