The food isn't cheap, but it's delicious. Steaks are always cooked to perfection. The sauce with the mussels is so more'ish. Definitely recommend.

A quiet place. Food good choice and excellent deserts. Lovely service and most relaxing having drinks with friends.

We visited the Squirrel on a midweek evening as a group of 4. Let me say at the start that the food was good, and we all enjoyed it, but I was rather taken aback at the prices - e.g. sausages and mash at £14 with no vegetables, fish, chips and peas £16. There was a small selection of sides, but nothing approaching healthy, an option of a selection of seasonal vegetables would have been nice to see (they were served with the lamb shank at £19, so they were certainly available). One of our group had a pizza (at £14) and pronounced it good, another had the salmon Milano (£18) but commented that it was a small portion. Unfortunately I found myself choosing on price, not on what I wanted to eat, which is never good in a restaurant (I had the burger at £12, not the lamb shank that I would normally have killed for).My jaw dropped even further when I saw the drinks menu. For me, the stand out price was nearly £10 for a 250ml glass of wine. What's that about? I did have a glass of Shiraz at that price and enjoyed it, but I felt I was quite frankly being taken for a ride. After we finished the main course, we wanted to see the sweet menu. Our waiter had disappeared, we were alone in the restaurant. After 45 minutes I had to grab an apparently off duty staff member to get us the sweet board, which he did immediately, and after a couple of minutes the bartender came to take our sweet order. The item I wanted was not available, slightly surprising as the restaurant had been virtually empty all evening. And when we got the bill, there was a discretionary service charge of 12.5% added, which I don't recall being mentioned on the menu and certainly not pointed out by our waiter. This left a nasty taste, I felt once again that I was being taken for a ride. I paid a lesser amount. All in all, a nice ambience and decent food spoilt by a limited and expensive menu, expensive drinks, and that rather naughty service charge. Perhaps it reflects the neighbourhood. I wouldn't rush back.

A ladies lunch with minimal fuss.Just what we wanted! Dietary requirements catered for with no issues 😊. Only minor note; none of the smoothies on offer were cold - believe this was a delivery issue. 🤞

Lovely rural pub, perfect for a bite to eat and socialise after a round of golf next door. You know your in a classy part of Surrey when the car park includes several Ferraris and a Maclaren. Food was really nice. New outside decking looks good and will be great once the summer is in full flow.

my sister, Ginny, and I were lucky enough to hold the wake for our much-adored (and party-loving) mum at this inn in January 2022. the day was a masterpiece of professionalism (both in the kitchen and on the floorof the restaurant/pub). we had asked the chef to propose a menu for us that was easy-to-eat 'finger food'- what he suggested, and prepared for us, for the day was EXACTLY what we needed. he food was absolutely delicious. the service perfect, all in all, a party that was the exact reflection of our much-missed mum. all our guests remarked upon what a wonderful day, even if sad, it was, and how our mum would have LOVED to be there partying with us herself! what a fantastic establishment this is ( it is worth noting that the management and team completely changed in November 2021). the decoration inside is attractive and cosy and welcoming. there is plentiful parking in-their two carparks and the ground-floor accommmodation in their sweet little cottages next to the carparks and to the pub/restaurant, was very handy for our guests travelling from far, Liz Reid (my family has been coming to this pretty pub ever since my parents moved from London to Milford, Surrey, in the 1960's)

Good food and nice staff, the mussels are especially good. Their new decking area is going to be lovely when it’s finished and perfect for the summer.

We stayed at The Squirrel Inn in a double room in the cottages for 4 nights just before Christmas. The hotel had just been taken over by new owners. We had a comfortable stay here, it was great to have parking right outside and also the pub and restaurant within a few steps. The new owners are very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed spending a bit of time with them. We ate in the pub twice and both times had a very nice meal, one night the chef even made a dish to order for me! The room, while small, was cosy and warm and the bed was comfortable. The shower room could do with a refresh but I think the owners are aware of this and have plans to upgrade. I would be happy to return here and wish the owners all the best with their plans for The Squirrel. Juliana and Gilles, December 2021

New management took over a couple of months ago. They are offering a great set menu for lunch 2 or 3 courses for very reasonable price. Food was good and staff were very friendly and efficient.
