The Star at Witley in Waverley

Really great food. Only 2 trad beers but really well kept. Landlady was very warm and welcoming. Large beer garden. Dog friendly inside and out. Try the pie well worth the visit

We have stopped at The Star on our way back home. The kitchen was closed but the chef has proactively agreed to open it earlier for us, which was fantastic and unheard of! To top it off, the Spanish steak and rump steak were spot on, very good quality meat and really good price to value. Really big garden with ample tables, free car park. If I could give more than 5*, I would :)

The Star is my local pub and have to say I feel very lucky to have a great pub on my doorstep. All the staff and landlord are excellent and provide a fantastic service, always happy and cheerful. The food is excellent, good quality and definitely good value and since lock down has finished have tried to use the pub once a week.and alway look forward to the visit

Got a takeaway pizza last night, good crispy base. Gather newish owners since September, seemed friendly. Would get pizza again, generous toppings.

Lovely pub which served some lovely beers and had a warm and welcoming environment. The layout is a classic old pub with stone fireplaces and wooden beams but was clean and had a very good level of decor. Have not eaten here yet but the menu looked to have a nice selection of dishes. Hope to try the food in the future.

The lady at The Star was absolutely amazing! She was so accommodating and helpful, thinking of all sorts of extra touches to make it a more relaxing experience for us and more fun for the kids with us. My son is gluten intolerant and she made such an effort to ensure he had equivalent things to all the other children. And the food was also delicious! I can't recommend The Star enough :-)

Sorry to say I was most disappointed with lunch in Saturday, lovely place and nice staff but such a long wait, an hour and a quarter for food, yes we had booked for lunch as a group, risotto was a very small portion and just warm, my partner had carrots which were raw, due to time constraints we didn’t make a fuss just paid and left with some of our friends still waiting for their food. Will not be going back
