Made to feel so welcome as soon as I entered the hotel. Absolutely wonderful staff, always on hand and happy to help.My room was lovely and had everything I needed. A nice cosy bar is on site serving very nice food and competitively priced drinks.Breakfast was delicious too, good porton sizes.I really couldn't ask for more, will definitely be staying again.

7 of us stayed there after climbing Scafell Pike. Nice little hotel. Comfy beds, ample bar with big screen and a pool table. Good breakfast the next day and very lovely and friendly staff.Would definitely recommend and stay there again for sure

Stayed here a few times now and it's still the quaint old hotel with very friendly staffOnce again we're staying in the Waverley and yes they have impressed me again this time they have revamped the lounge and I'm impressed by the new decore it's modern and bright the old carpet has gone replaced with wood flooring the whole room has undergone a total make over. Well done to the owners 1class

I cant believe the photos on Google! Staged!Certainly not my experience.Really Friendly staff but that is where it ends. First room had dirty and torn carpets on a noisy corner. Tea amd coffee items slung in a plastic bag. Even my second room although it had crisp clean sheets looked nothing like the photos and it would not say it was cheap.Breakfast was limited with auful scrambled eggs in a sea of tined tomatoes! But mushrooms were excellent!Disgusting absolutely tasteless transparent so called "marmalade"!

You get a proper, full English breakfast freshly cooked to order, not a festering buffet like at the big chains. You can have a roast for dinner too. They buy good ingredients and cook them very well. The prices are really low and that shows up in the antiquated decor, but the bed is really comfortable (for tall people too.) You can reach most Lakeland trailheads in 40-60 minutes and they'll cook an early breakfast if you tell them in advance. The people are really friendly, and that seems typical of the town - strangers said hello to us on the street. We could always park right outside the door or on the street behind the hotel. They give you a resident's parking disk so you're ok from 16:30 to 09:30. We're really glad we found it and we'll use it from now on as a base for the Lakes.

Service was shocking didn't get a single order right. Could taste the grease on the chips and roast tatties. The waitress could only carry one thing at a time and didn't listen to what was being said to her, putting plates down wherever she wanted. Food wasn't very nice, wouldn't recommend

Probably the friendliest place we have ever stayed. Nothing is a problem to these guys from moment you arrive. Food been superb and bed so cumfy. Highly recommend and we will be staying here again for sure. First rate and staff are a credit to this Hotel 👍👍

We stayed for a night thinking it would just be a basic hotel. We had a issue with the heating in our room and they were so quick to sort it out and even offered us two rooms. So we ended up with 2 instead of one it was honestly great. Breakfast was nice and they were all so friendly. Definitely will stay again!
