Visited for a spa package. The lunch was fantastic. The spa is beautiful and clean and our treatments were amazing. But was disappointed there is no steam or sauna room. The plastic flip flops in your package are thrown away if you don't take them home which really annoyed me, that has to change.

Stayed here recently for a wedding. Beautiful grounds, amazing building, wonderful place for a wedding.Rooms are nice but very expensive, not sure I would call them value for money.Food I good and so is the spa.Overall a lovely place.

Had a lovely afternoon tea. The first table we were offered was a bit isolated but the charming waitress moved us instantly to a light window table. Hotel delightfully traditional. And thankfully no piped music!

Extremely overpriced room rates over the half-term.Sunday: Breakfast order was 1 hour late on Sunday - lots of unhappy customers on all tables.Monday - breakfast order ready on time but our orders were mixed up. Could not face returning so just ate what arrived in order to get on with our lives.Tuesday - breakfast was half an hour late, cold and black pudding was obviously uncooked. We returned our order without touching a thing. So off putting.Pool - great temp for kids, nice size and lovely changing rooms. Very sharp edges on the steps. You need to walk outside in the cold and rain to get to the pool as it is in a separate building. It felt like the chlorine level were perhaps too high in the air??, as our eyes were stinging withput diving - but wearing goggles sorted that out.Suite was ok but does not match the price. Outdated bathroom suite but everything worked. Clean.Nice walks in the grounds but there is a very strong smell of sewage works as you walk down beyond the small lake. Best avoid.Summary: extremely disappointed and will not go back.

It's been a difficult time for the hospitality industry and Ashdown Park seems suffering from a decline in service standards both in the hotel and in the Restaurant. It would appear a core of experienced staff are struggling alongside a number of new untrained who aren't really motivated. The standard we experienced in the hotel fell way short in general. The restaurant would be well advised to drop its fine dining menu until such time as it can get near the level of service and quality needed.

Beautiful old building situated in stunning grounds, we stayed in a gorgeous large suite with high ceilings, balcony and fantastic views of the forest. Enjoyed a delicious lunch, service a little slow but food was fantastic. The golf course is a little rustic, particularly the back 9 which are very short but unforgiving if you're not accurate. Back 9 greens in poor condition, but front 9 are OK. Will definitely visit again

New Years Eve. Thank you to all the staff at Ashdown Park who made our New Years Eve one that we will remember. From the moment we arrived every detail had been taken care of. Dinner and entertainment excellent and well planned. Room large and comfortable. It did not go unnoticed how hard the staff were working to make this a truly memorable stay. (even the next day at breakfast!!!). Thank you all and Happy New Year.

Really lovely couples break, stayed with the afternoon tea/dinner/breakfast package.Beautiful hotel and golf course. Free parkingStaff are absolutely the best... Kind, helpful and make you feel at ease. All from the room staff to waiters to reception very lovely. They listened to our requests for food requirements etc and so we were able to enjoy all our meals. The chef definitely needs complimenting. Excellent selection of food and really tasty. Haute cuisine.Room very nice with view. Big puffy pillows. Had a kettle, coffee machine, selection of teas and hot chocolate, TV and Molten Brown toiletries. Complimentary drinks and chocolate.Dropped a star as bed was not that comfortable..was a twin joined to a double, which is very common in many hotels but the mattress height between the two was noticeable and dipped and the shower water swung from warm to burning hot.Despite these minor flaws I'd recommend and would probably come again on a package deal

We had a great stay at the Ashdown Park Hotel, the staff were polite, professional, helpful, and they looked after all our needs. The restaurant staff was great as was the food. We had a fantastic room that was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee. The health club was clean and well organised. We have stayed several times over the years, mainly on special occasions and at times with friends or family. The hotel is in a great part of Sussex with fantastic grounds with walks and makes you feel so relaxed. Back again at Christmas.
