Calamar fish chips in Wealden

My partner brought me home a steak and kidney pie and a portion of chips. What a ruddy joke, once upon a time you would get a proper bag of really nice cooked chips, this time I got a small open bag of chips, very dry horrible rubbish posing as chips, the pie was gastly, it was dry, hard to cut, no gravy in the pie just not worth it, I threw the hole lot in the bin. I always held this takeaway in high regards once, I will definitely not get anything from there ever again.

I think the old man is so rude I drived over from Hailsham the chip shop says on the website 9.30 its closes i was their at 9.15 and he told me to get out very rude he treats his customers with no respect

Well cooked food. Options for vegetarians. Only problem is that they don't accept credit or debit cards unless you do an online order for delivery. Otherwise it should excellent value for money.

I would have scored 0 star's if it would let me after 10 minutes looking for the place it was closed, when on advice on phone it clearly stated it been open now it's really annoying because we had planned this trip to eat on our way football match USELESS.

Portion size was appalling and chips came in a greasy paper bag. The fish was alright, fresh, but quite bland, as with the chips that were also soggy. Very overpriced for what you get. Would not recommend.

Best fish and chips in polegate, cooked to order, great quality. They try hard unlike another who just wants to cheat you on portion and price.

We are fortunate in this area to have some exceptional fish and chip shops. Got to say tho this one is the best. Best haddock and chips I've had for ages.

This place is the best around. I'm 53 and have not had better anywhere ever. I will always go here or have delivered as it's so quick and hot. Hope one day they can get the shop next door to have a eat in place aswell. 5 star plus

Very nice fish, with large portions. My Sons medium cod was openned & served 1st, my partner thought it was my large portion, she was quite shocked when next cod came out of wrapping, it was too big for our normal round plates.
