Nice old world stule pub but the hotel rooms are in desperate need of some tlc. Mildew in the bath and shower head heavily scaled. Bed was comfy on the plus side

·

The bed was extremely comfortable and water nice and hot. Was quiet. However we came back after going out to eat and the pub entrance was all in darkness and the doors locked . We were not told we had to walk down a side street and go round to the back entrance which isn't easy to find unless you know where you are going. Thank god for other patrons otherwise we would have had to find another hotel!!

·

Ultimate night out - proper music and fine selection of wines and local ale. World Class food by Chef on par with Michellin Restaurants.

Many reviews seem harsh. We had a comfortable stay. Easy check in, clean room, plenty of hot water. Not fancy but fine. Pick up tea from breakfast room if you want some (why not put in rooms?!). Don't necessarily expect breakfast although advertised - several nice cafes nearby though!

A bit neglected and not well managed the room could have been better, tea facilities just kettle and cups which were dirty no tea or coffee so a waste of time having a kettle and cups.....Bar prices were hiked up for guest staying glasses were dirty and the half pint glass didn't look like half a pint ..slept well as was very tirrd the bed was clean and comfortable lucky we locked the door as we were awaken by someone trying to get into our room about 2am then we were awaken about 6 am by a car starting up .....overall prices for the rooms are over the top for what you get ... advertised as 2 star would not even give a star...🤤

Booked this as emergency accommodation for my dad as my mother was kept in hospital over night. He arrived about 8.40pm after saying he'd be there between 8-9 to a locked door. Eventually got in to the owner saying they'd messaged him. There was a young man at reception complaining that no hot water coming out shower. The owner was arguing and told him the boilers were working and to feel the pipes. His room key was left in the room door.Sheets and towels were clean. But he had to wear his socks to walk on the carpet. Room very dated. Dad went to leave at 8.15am and the front door was locked. He had to struggle in the dark to find his way out.I stayed here over 20yrs ago and I don't think it's been decorated since there.

If you want a good rest in a great location, this is it. Big beds and clean sheets. Don't expect more than that, so just book with realistic expectations. Tesco Express just opposite for coffees and snacks. Good pizza and pasta place right next door.

I booked to stay at this accommodation and no one was there. Despite knocking the door several times as well as ringing with only the option to leave a message no one came to sort my accommodation. I had to drive late at night for 30 minutes to sleep on a sofa. Appalling

Lovely old building with real character and charm. yes it's a bit dated but definitely not as bad as a lot of reviews make out! Our room was basic and dated but clean and comfortable and perfect for the price. Great location, walking distance from other pubs and restaurants and very pretty surroundings. Friendly host on check in, although nobody around to check out, however we had been told to leave the key in the room of that was the case so no issue really! Would stay again with no hesitation.

Our flight got cancelled and we randomly booked a hotel in the area. We were positively surprised. The room was nice especially compared to the ones in London, the staff was very friendly. The next morning we had breakfast and talked with the owner because we needed to stay 2 more days, he was very nice about it, cool guy.The breakfast was very nice as well, tea, bread, cereal, fruit. If you want to eat out I can highly recommend the burger restaurant across the main Street.
