Four of us came for a special family event. They were very welcoming and happily accommodated our desire for an early evening meal. The food was delicious, we had the duck, and the venison which was very tender. The pheasant breast starter was lovely and the soft, home made bread so tasty. The desserts didn't have the wow factor of the other two courses, but overall the evening was excellent.

Nice, scenic location but is right next to a very busy road and isn't very large. The staff are very friendly, but the price of a drink is ridiculous, £6.50 for a single rum and coke! The food is average, not bad but not great, but we had a set menu as we're attending a wedding so cannot comment on alternative options to the chicken. Overall I would go back.

Food is excellent, but be prepared to wait for a long time for it, my wife and daughter stayed the night before the latter's wedding and after being informed by the owner that their table was booked for 7pm, upon arrival at the restaurant, the staff there weren't even aware of their reservation, so 80 minutes after sitting down they got served with their meal!!! The rooms are very comfortable and clean, but as mentioned before, we were there for a wedding and to be brutally honest, their wedding package needs some serious fine tuning and as a venue, although picturesque, would suggest you look elsewhere.

We had our wedding at English Wine Centre a couple of weeks ago. We cannot fault anything about our experience with the owners (previous and present). We had been planning our wedding with them for about a year and they were fabulous at making sure our every need was met, and to the highest quality. Rob and Annette have been very friendly and organised and we had every confidence that they'd deliver what they promised - which they did.Our food was simply outstanding, the venue was looking beautiful with gardens very well kept, the marquee had a new carpet looking very smart and stylish. Organisation of the day and night was excellent, leaving us to fully enjoy our wedding day. It was a very memorable day because of the venue and all the staff. We also stayed in the accommodation taking up all the rooms with our family. Lovely, comfortable and clean rooms, all perfect for our needs. If you're considering getting married here, we can't recommend it highly enough! Exellent venue, food, drinks and everything else. We will be going back for years to come on anniversary dinners!

I booked dinner for a party of 14. The meal was pre-ordered from the menu which gave about 6 choices of starter and main course.Very pleasant room surrounded by tempting bottles of English wine. We were well looked after by the owner who suggested appropriate wine to complement the food. All delicious especially the Sussex smokie and risotto.Deserts also had to be pre-ordered, apart from ice cream, which was slightly disappointing. But a lovely evening and the wine was so good that several bottles were purchased to take home at the end of the evening.Highly recommended.

Delighted to receive a carton of selected English sparkling wines here in France- am about to show the French how great Methode Britainnique is - and how much more efficient wine sales and delivery can be! Thank you Rob for all your help.

The food and wine are truly amazing here. The knowledge of wine is great and can help in finding you a great wine to suit your taste. The food is put out at a great standard. I would highly recommended either a meal or popping in to pick up a bottle of great wine.

Myself and my now wife got married at the English Wine Centre in Alfriston.Nobody wants to read a long review so I'll summarise our experience. The English Wine Centre is fantastic. They will effortlessly make sure your wedding day runs without a hitch, providing delicious food and drink, beautiful gardens and surroundings, and an all round brilliant atmosphere.I cannot recommend The English Wine Centre enough as a venue for a Wedding, and I would also suggest you stay in their luxurious on-site hotel for that special Wedding night. Many thanks to Christine and Colin who made sure our special day was perfect in every way.Steve and Rachel.

Very good lunch. Very reasonable prices (£10 - 14 mains on saturday lunch). I rarely eat out in a place I consider to do food better than I can at home but this place definitely did. Very good partridge and the quantity was spot on.

Excellent local food. However, we went there to book for a wedding and met the lady owning the place. We never heard back from her after she promised to get back to us. We found this a little rude.
