A very warm open looking place - people sitting outside having a few evening drinks, enter into the bar area and to the right, the dining area which is spacious. Great service from a friendly young lady. Lots to choose from on the menu. I had prawn with garlic and chilli to start - was ok but didn't taste and chilli I must admit, and then I had chicken, bacon and avo salad. The chicken was char grilled by the looks of it, and sometimes was bitter tasting (a few burnt bits on it) and a bit dry from over cooking I found. My sister had a very delicious salmon and my hubby and brother in law had the steak pie, which was very filling and quite tasty they said. It's a pleasant place to pop in to have a pleasant evening - offering sometimes live bands on certain evenings.

Came for lunch as a party of 10, easy to find, and easy parking as many spaces.A few family groups were also having lunch, and the establishment has a nice friendly feel.A range of menu options were ordered, 1 of our party is a vegetarian and had no problem finding menu options. The lunches and desserts were all great bar mine which arrived with a long hair resting on it, spotted as the plate was brought. The waitress was apologetic and another plate was brought about 10 minutes later.Dropped a star from my review for hair in the food, so only 3 stars.

Popped in for a burger and a beer just before closing, bar staff were very friendly and took our order. The burger itself was one of the best IV had in years! Juicy and very tasty. The only reason I have dropped one star is because the waitress who bought our food out looked very unhappy to serve us and when I said hello to her she completely ignored us!

Excellent menu with such a great selection of great food. Service is brilliant. Have been a few times already and will definitely be going back again soon.

Lovely hotel, I was looking for something different to the generic boring travelodge/premiere inn and found this place. It’s a lovely hotel, clean and tidy and the staff were quite friendly. My only issue really was that breakfast was advertised online and in the room and I paid for it when I booked but when I asked about it I was told they don’t do breakfast (despite being called a bed and breakfast also!) I told them I paid for it etc and was just told that there a cafes down the road!! Times are hard and we were on a budgeted mini break so to have to go and pay in a cafe for 3 breakfasts which we hadn’t budgeted for set us back. I feel like we should’ve been offered some money back on our room or something. But like I say, other than that it was a lovely hotel and when they start doing breakfasts again I’ll be back

We went in there for an impromptu hot lunch having been with out electricity for 3 days in the recent storm. They were welcoming , the food fabulous a big roast and fish and chips , and I spilt a whole pint of coke over the floor and even then they were gracious and moved us to another table so our food didn’t get cold !A nice farewell topped off a really pleasant lunch .. thank you we needed kindness and good food and that’s what we got.We will be back

Stopped here on a whim after visiting a railway nearby. What a good decision this turned out to be. Great selection of food for adults and kids. Good choice of drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I had the guest ale from a local brewery which was tasty.I ate pie of the day, which was Chicken, vegetables and stuffing. It was delicious and a proper pie too, not just a pastry top. Kids meals came with a choice of beans or peas, as well as chips. Good selection of sandwiches on offer too.Pleasantly surprised by the war memorial in the garden to a pilot who lost his life saving the village by using his Spitfire as a battering ram against a V1 bomb.A great choice, will certainly think of here again if in the area.
