Holly Blue in Wealden

Pre Booked for family of five. On arrival after driving all the way there we were told no menu and carvery only. Having an autistic young adult that doesn't handle change we had to leave. They had our contact details and could have let us know beforehand. No reason given. Was probably a lucky escape after reading reviews. Have been accommodated by a properly run restaurant now so all good.

We went at a busy time but the service was amazing. Our waitress Ashley was kind, friendly and very helpful. Food was amazing. Bonus was having a lot more vegetarian and vegan options than most places. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Was the first time visiting this place and honestly expected better. Was to celebrate my birthday with my sister,nephew,children and grandchildren. Booked in advance for a 12 noon carvery, got shown to table and then left . Wasn't told we had to go and order and pay at bar or no waiter/waitress to ask any questions to. When we did go up was disappointed as food was cold but kids meals were piping hot . We were the 1st to be served to. Been to better places and reluctant to go back.

Good food reasonably priced. Very good service. We were in a party of 36, our order was dealt with efficiently and there was no long wait. Good atmosphere. Would recommend.

I booked through the website and asked for a table on the level and near to facility’s as I have reduced mobility. Previous years there have been special menus & offers for Valentines but as they were running a reduced menu this year they were unable to.It was quiet when we arrived & we were shown to our table straight away and asked if we would like them to get our drinks. The gentleman took our drinks & food order at the table as it was so quiet and was extremely attentive.We opted for the carvery and we’re not disappointed. All the meats were so tender & flavourful, everything was perfectly cooked.I had the white chocolate & raspberry roulade, it was so good!We have been coming to Holly blue for many years and always enjoy it but I would say this was probably the best meal so far!The staff were so friendly & helpful, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. 🌟

Have been going to Holly Blue for a lunch meal for several years. Yesterday's meal was good.Better meat portions this time and a good selection of veg. I think the restaurant has struggled a bit over the past 18 months with Covid and has had hotplate breakdowns. Much better.

Staff were very smart and polite attentive but not over attentive food was absolutely delicious and hot not expensive so can come again soon. Holly blue was clean and tidy and well set out. Will recommend to everyone i know cant wait to come back. Thank you as was my birthday and i so enjoyed coming to you. Very well done.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Food was to a good standard. We both had Carvery as the line was down. The vegetables (my favourite part of any meal) were perfectly cooked - not too soft and not too crunchy. There was a little confusion about what desserts were available, but we got there and thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. We were initially going to book Toby Carvery, where we go regularly but had seen an advert for 30% off at Holly Blue so decided to give it a try. Glad we did and we will most definitely return as the vegetables were of a much better standard than at Toby Carvery and the location of Holly Blue is far nicer too. Thank you.

Had 30% off mains so thought we would give a try again, as previously (2 years ago, nearly) had been hugely disappointed. Sadly very limited menu. Which doesn't show up on website. And even then they didn't have everything. No price list for drinks either. Kept away from carvery that looked very sad. Steak meal was good but could have been hotter. A ridiculous amount of peas on the plate,which was off putting. Went early evening and as we left just gone 8pm they were packing up. All a bit sad.

On arrival we were welcomed and sitted swiftly, then, it took nearly 20 mins for someone to come and take our order, we even went to ask again and were told that someone would be with us soon...when the waitress got to us we placed our order; that Sunday there was a unforseen circumstances and the kitchen could only provide the Carvery no other item of the menu, which it was ok for all of us. The chef's at carvery service really polite and friendly, we proceed to enjoy however none of the person who had the roast beef could really eat it it was though and though goes ....so that make 4 out of 5 of us and the roasties where nearly the bottom ones so we're all soak in oil and not really crunchy in addition I didn't really enjoy the cauliflower... have to say the carrots were delicious and I did enjoyed the turkey and pigs in blankets.We probably won't be coming anytime soon however it was clear they have new people and whatever was the unfortunately circumstances might have affected the overall service and food quality, at least we hope so!
